I hope they wont overprice it. The sweet spot is between 1.5 to 2M. Comparable with the Montero, Everest and Fortuner.

Noted. But is this technically a PPV? Not an expert in car makes but as far as I know, PPVs are SUVs based on Pickup trucks ( ex. Everest is based on Ford Ranger).

I guess Honda is aiming to have the CRV AWD to compete with the Grand Santa Fe AWD and Sorento AWD models.

The Hrv Mugen 4x2 with a weak 1.8 gas engine is already priced at 1.5m

Wishful thinking lang kung 1.5m level

Only a Honda fanboy will buy an HRV with Mugen body kits for 1.5M.

Will you pay 250k more for the Mugen badge? I guess not.

Kahit 300 hp pa Santa Fe and Sorento, meron pa ring hindi bibili niyan because Hyundai and Kia.

Conversely, the Fortuner 2.5G with only 102 hp sold like hotcakes even without power, because Toyota.

95% ng car buyers walang alam at walang pake sa horsepower. Basta matipid at hindi hirap makina, okay na.

    Yup.

The Montero Sport was already a sales success before the VGT engine... when it had the old, outdated and smoke-belching 136 hp 4D56T. (It also won at COTY-P in that year, if I recall).

    -

But a word of caution... Honda is an aspirational brand... people will be expecting more. They WILL sell the CR-V, whatever the power output and price are... but both of those will affect the volume... and will determine whether it will sell in crossover numbers or PPV numbers.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

Totally agree with this. We had both the Fort 2.5G and served us very well. Sold it at 650k after 7 years!
We also had the Sta fe and sold it at 400k after 5 years and after having a top overhaul! Brand reliability sells.

BTT, the gas and bare diesel will sell. Actually, the this CRV will sell mas lalo na ang diesel-loving pinoys

Dun sa orientation ng mga Honda sales people, yung flyer nila only shows 120hp for the diesel. I wonder where Kotse.com got that info?

Anyone noticed na wala ng gear stick sa Gen 5 CRV? Looking at some pictures, mukhang some variants doesn't have paddle shifters. The levers were replaced by buttons.

^ Ouch if true. Hopefully, ilabas nila yung initially reported na P1.6M entry level na diesel kahit 120hp. If I haven't bought my Monty earlier this year, I could have been in the market for that diesel version.
