i agree with you, i have the latest 8th gen civic and my latest civic took me several years to appreciate its shape. i previously owned 7th gen coupe which looks better than the 8th... and so i thought. give it time and immediate mid-cycle change, the car will look different; more aggressive as majority of honda dealerships in the US are clamoring for.
This is being pessimistic. I'm pretty sure within the first 2 months of its release, the new Civic would have had more sales than the Sentra 200 in its nearly two years in the market.
And why not? Despite being below what people expect of a Honda Civic, it's still a better proposition than the Sentra.
people's comments are based on their expectations, especially if you are talking about pricey ones. i will agree, honda cars are a bit expensive than other cars, but the over-all packaging and reliability/dependability are often left behind when compared side-by-side. i am really surprised to know that in this day and age where internet is ruling the planet, many people are still relying on hearsay and not even bother to look at the sites where the fact sheets are. that's the challenge for honda, how to point that out to the buying public.
matanong ko nga lang; bakit ba napakamahal ng sasakyan sa pinas? the ligislators in the philippines should know by now that vehicles are not luxury but a necessity, unless you are buying high end cars like BMW, Merc, Lexus, and etc. Honda cars, by default are all econo-cars.
Shame that the next Gen Civic might not surpass the achievements of the 8th gen Civic FD. The Civic Mugen RR will forever be icon. Built on the Civic Type R platform, only 300 units were ever made in the whole world and every single one was sold out in 10mins. Just sharing how great the 8th Gen Civic was.

Huwag sana ilabas coupe dito, yayabang nanaman at dadami mga kupal, racer wannabe Honda fanboi
Skin head, fat turd with dark nape drivers...**** yayabang lahat ng pangit
Coupe dito?Baka nasa 1.3 Million Pesos yan at maging FLOP lang yan kaya malabong dalhin yan ng HCPI dito.
Yung 1.8 Liter EXI 5 Speed A/T na Sedan eh okay lang.
Doubt it. Magiging parang ES lang 'to.
Hindi naman din kasi ganun ka-available ang aftermarket parts for the ES, unlike for the EK and the FD you almost see one everywhere.
Very disappionting nga in my opinion ang civic na bago, hopefully honda designs way better on the 3rd gen of jazz![]()
This is the one I spotted in front of Philamlife Bldg along Paseo de Roxas.
Forgive the blurry photo.
