Indepth tour of 2012 Honda Civic (US version)
Here's the dubai version. Headlamps are much better compared to the US version. Not a fan of the strip on the tails which is similar to the current accord's rear lamps.

* Better Aerodynamics, lower Air drag means lower fuel consumption.
* Low Rolling Resistance tires, means lower fuel consumption.
* changed fm. Hydraulic pump to Electric Power steering, less drag on engine means lower fuel consumption.
That's how!
meron pa nga HF (high fuel efficiency model) sa USDM na it achieves 41mpg (hiway) instead of the normal (39mpg) dahil sa Aero add ons (under side body panels, and special wheel design same as hybrid cars)....
pero mas ok sana kung tinataasan din nila ang HP output per generation like they used to....
can't imagine why Honda stopped on this 9th. gen Civic....
No wonder alot of people are saying they dropped the ball this time around.
napag-iiwanan na tuloy.
A couple of shots I took last night from the showroom here in UAE, sorry for a crappy quality...just a mobile phone.

Honda has now released full details about their new model.
The shape of the 2012 Honda Civic looks similar to the previous one, but structurally, the front A-pillars were moved forward and the rear C-pillars were moved backwards. Interior passenger volume has improved by 104.7 litres with gains in the shoulder, front and rear hip rooms. The new Civic retains the two-tiered instrument panel. The boot is also larger.
The 2012 Civic has a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder SOHC i-VTEC engine with 139 hp at 6,500 rpm and 174 Nm of torque at 4,300 rpm, with a 5-speed automatic and front-wheel-drive, all pretty much the same as before. However, the new model boasts better fuel economy due to various weight-reducing and aerodynamic measures.
Available new features include a new Intelligent Multi-Information Display (i-MID) standard on EXI and VTI, which displays a wide variety of driver’s selected information including Audio, Trip computer, Fuel economy, HFT, and Clock. The display can also be personalised by uploading a wallpaper of choice. An Econ mode is standard on all grades to help improve fuel efficiency by controlling the AC compressor load and changing the engine throttle characteristics. Also, in choosing to drive in an Econ mode, it helps improve the driving habits by observing the ambient lights guide.
The EXI and VTI also get a standard rear-view camera, Bluetooth phone, USB port, cruise control, 60/40 split-folding rear seat, 6-speaker stereo and 16-inch alloy wheels. The base LXi gets 15-inch steel wheels with hubcaps and a 2-speaker CD/MP3 stereo, but retains power windows, disc brakes and keyless entry. A sunroof and fog lights are optional on the EXi and standard on the VTi. The VTi additionally gets HID headlights and auto a/c.
In terms of safety, all Civics get front airbags, ABS with EBD, front active headrests and even stability control. The VTi additionally gets side and curtain airbags.
hmmm.... not bad, this will still sell here.. and from the pics above, not that BAD, kung ito dadalhin dito, mas ok nga sya compared sa USDM...
Disappointing, really.
Truth be told, this will probably still sell. Kasi "Honda" nga naman. Just like the new Altis, a heckuva disappointment, but it still sells.
