Guys, this is my first time to post here so pasensya na kung malabo. nagbabalak kasi ako bumili ng magiging first car ko, and etong civic sgro ung bibilin ko pero undecided pa, may mga tanong lang ako..
malaki ba talaga difference ng japan made kesa sa thai made? pwede kasing colonial mentality lang..
matipid ba talaga sa gas tong new civic na to? kasi student palang ako so i can't afford ung sasakyan na lumalaklak ng gas.
and pahingi lang din ng comment kung bagay ba to sa 20yrs old na katulad ko? i mean ung looks nung car sabi kasi ng iba parang pang matanda daw ung design. Thanks

as oz just posted, if you could wait for the mid-model change, then wait. dealerships (in the US) were clamoring is to get back to the civic's roots to make the car more exciting - styling wise and handling. however, this may come with yet another price increase; just go figure.

civic is one of the most fuel efficient cars out in the market. it constantly defies the epa rating; my 7th gen civic was rated 32 mpg city and 37 mpg highway; it consistently gives me between 39/42 mpg and it wasn't even a hybrid. however, it was a manual tranny. my 8th gen civic with bigger engine was rated 25/29 mpg and it constantly gives me 30/34. gas consumption will definitely vary depending on how you drive your car. if you're an aggressive driver, then your consumption will be on the high side, and you know where i am going with this one...

Yes, most likely. Pero due to the removed features magmumura din ang price.

My FD averages 8-9km/L on the city and topped at 13-16km/L at the highway. Manual siya. The new Civic should be the same. Depends sa everyday route mo.

You can look for smaller cars then. Toyota Vios, Honda Jazz etc.

Depends on your taste. Definitely the new Lancer EX would suit the binata looks more, or even the Elantra or Cruze. Pero if you don't mind, the Civic should do quite well. Medyo mukhang pang-matanda talaga.

Don't stereotype na Civic = sporty. Not anymore.

Except all cars here will fall short of their EPA rating. Traffic conditions are worse both in the city and on the highway.

When somebody comes up with a fuel mileage test system here in the Philippines, it should include a loooooooong time sitting in idle too - since that's where most of our cars spend their life at.

saw a couple of the new honda civic looks elegant nga, parang yung accord. i hope the owners keep it stock as it looks more respectable that way, i saw a riced out black civic already with a couple of stickers and green rims. naawa na lang ako sa civic bago pa naman din at wala pa plaka.

yon nga eh, gandang ganda pa naman din ako sa black nung una kong makita talagang executive ang dating at ka galang galang tingan tapos bigla may nakita ako ganon. siguro kung may plaka yon may tilting plate na yon.

I guess yung image ng Civic na sporty ay hinde pa rin natatanggal sa mga utak ng tao.
This picture was taken earlier, mga 30 minutes ago lang while I was on my way home.

It's a brand spanking new Carmellian(sp?) Red Civic FB with black Advan RG2 rims. Doesn't suit the car's overall look, IMO.

Exactly my sentiments. Kaya nga nung nakita ko yan, medyo naging weird yung hitsura nung Civic. Mas ok pa sana if silver na VIP-ish looking mags yung nilagay niya. Mas bagay pa sana.
