Let say na PMS lang meaning ano ano ba pinapalitan at cost comparing sa Japs cars..

    Oil?
    Spark Plugs?
    Oil Filter?
    Air Filter?

Other fluids like coolant, Transmission Oil, Power Steering Fluid.. etc...?

    Labor??

So kung mas mahal ang Ford means mas mahal yung price nang mga nasa taas comparing sa Normal PMS nang let say Honda Nissan Toyota etc..?

    Thank you to all.

I shall do a manual calculation to double check the computer reading.

Fuel should not be an issue though as we consistently use Shell. So if it is bad now, it was bad before.

The car itself was just recently tuned up (15k) at Ford Global so theoretically things like the tire pressure, oil etc etc are up to their spec. This assumes they have done a good job.

I'm aware that there may be more traffic though am surprised by the dramatic change. It seems to be getting higher but again this may not be factual if the computer itself is not precise.

Am curious but will check the facts. Thanks again.

As for the maintenance issue, I own a Mazda and the maintenance do costs more than even a Nissan specially around the 20k PMS (and maybe every 20k PMS thereafter). That too is my concern with the Focus TDCi since they are like, related. I do not know if the Ford casa will accept spare parts sourced externally (even orig) but Mazda is a bit hesitant accepting such parts citing instructions coming from the Ford factory daw.
Well... you're comparing a modern Mazda3 with a decade old Sentra, which is sold as a fleet and taxi vehicle.

Granted, Mazda3/Focus parts are expensive, but they're the same as other "new" designs, like the Honda Civic and the Mitsubishi Lancer. The only "new" car that is likely to be cheap to maintain is the Corolla, since it still uses the ten-year old ZZ series engine... though there are some valid concerns over the long term durability of that unit.

If you're worried about maintenance, do what I did when I had warranty. Everything that affects the warranty of your engine... have it done at the casa. And don't modify the engine or exhaust.

Brakes and suspension are cited as wear items on the warranty... so don't even bother... have brakes, suspension and alignment worked on at a trusted shop outside.

Errh... engine mounts, too. If you're a bad driver (aggressive... drag races, squeals tires, etcetera...), the engine mounts can be a weak point, and they cost a mint at the casa... though I'm hoping some company will come out with good mount inserts for the TDCi.

good day mga sirs! newbie here.. i'm from cainta.. my 2007 ford focus was victim of super typhoon ondoy.. pinagawa namin sa ford libis, but after paying big bucks for thier service ang dami pa din prob ng auto ko.. the power windows are not working aside from the driver side, car stereo, backing sensor, alarm, power steering failure, so evertime im driving para akong nakikipag arm wrestling, worst part is my fuel consumption approxiately 5km/liter na lang, at yung maingay sa makina.. if i remember it right it has something to do with pulley(not sure which pulley).. anyway, mga sir baka pwede humingi ng reccomendation where i can gat replacement for the pulley or kung san yung okay na gumagawa noon.. salamat!

Ask around at http://forum.fordclubph.com ...lots of north members there who can point you to shops that can work on the Focus. Sorry to hear about your plight... pero talagang mahirap ang flood damage sa modern vehicles ngayon.

    Hello,

To anyone who own or has experience with a 2.0 A/T Focus Hatch.

What is the fuel consumption nito in everyday city driving?

What are the things to look for na sirain if you are buying one na second hand?

have a friend who is selling his. But medjo out of my budget. But kung ok naman ang performance, ok na din. I like the way this car looks too!

Thanks for any help to make my decision.

If properly cared for (not drag-raced, use clean diesel, warm up before "birit" and cool down after), a TDCi will give you relatively trouble-free motoring. The worst problems you might see are a busted engine mount (these are expensive) if you shift aggressively and do jack-rabbit starts, and worn brakes if you drive too fast.

Oh... and while gasoline Focii tend to eat the rear tires due to the built-in negative rear camber, the diesel tends to eat front tires due to the built-in tire shredder Ford calls an engine.

Oh, and considering this is a 1.4 ton two-liter turbocharged car with a 6 liter oil sump capacity, don't expect normal maintenance items to be as cheap as with a Vios. Maintenance will cost somewhere between that of a midsize and that of a compact car. The fuel economy makes up for it, though.

Around 5.5-7 km/l in urban driving. not any worse than other 2 liter automatics (the Civic and Corolla 2.0 are the same).

Look out for CV Joint issues if it's an older model (2006 ata yung recall) and the usual squeaks, rattles and suspension issues that plague compact cars due to our pothole riddled streets.

Dos Litros... automatic... don't expect much. Once talked to a guy with a 2 liter Civic (the original, yung ES sedan). Admitted the fuel consumption was horrible in traffic (and this was a Honda management guy), but he said that whenever he wanted to get to a meeting on time, there was only one car in his garage he'd take...

yep, this is pretty accurate. i have an 06 2.0L a/t hatch myself and, yes, gas mileage sucks, but there hasn't been a day that i didn't enjoy driving it. it's pretty fast even at stock. suspension in stiff which makes the car very responsive and fairly predictable.

maintenance is pretty much the same as other late model cars. mine's at 30k kms and the only major parts i've replaced are the front shocks - which is what you need to look out for, btw. if it hasn't been replaced yet then chances are ikaw ang magpapareplace niyan soon.
