sobrang haba lang ng Eve, esp the hood, but since you were driving an XUV, you'd have no problems adjusting. get the Eve ICE for your kids, solid!

So between trib and Eve, Eve ako hands down. Pero in the end, I decided to add a little more sa budget and will be getting the Montero Sport. Ok din si Sta. Fe if you have more money, pero its a car. Montero, Fort, Eve and Alterra ay trucks, so dont expect a car-like ride on them like Sta. Fe or trib.

    HTH :D
thanks for the advice... i'd probably get the eve na nga. i also considered montero coz it really looks super sleek... if it were a guy, gwapo talaga! but haba pila & i've been seeing a lot of it already on the road. parang sooner or later, para na rin syang kasi dami ng fort sa streets.
    thanks again!

yes, you'll never go wrong with the Eve. Bilhan mo na lang ng adjustable shocks if you want an even better ride. Pero kung sanay ka sa XUV, eh mas matutuwa ka naman sa Eve, even at stock. I agree, dadami rin ang Montero, pero not anytime soon in comparison sa Fort, since the Fort has been around since 2005.

MRS SCHUMIE, since you already have an alterra, an everest may be a redundunt choice as they're supposed to serve the same purpose. An escape or a tribute might be a better choice for you. bigger than a car (pang baha) but not too big to be driving/parking it everyday to the office. (size wise ofcourse). fuel wise, well, its a different thing. its much much cheaper than an escape/tribute.

my wife will be getting a 2008 crv. for the porma.
i bought an everest. for the price, power, size.

Same comment here. If you are still keeping your Alterra, parang pareho na siya ng Everest (pang pamilya). Buying a smaller car (like Outlander, Escape, Rav or Vitara) may be a better option...para maiba naman ang ride.

Pero kung type mo ang malaking vehicle like Everest, GO FOR IT!!!!

I bought the Everest 2.5 AT to replace my 5 year old SR. Ang sarap nya i-drive...nakaka-aliw. Malakas ang makina, at maganda ang ride. My wife loves the 2nd row seat kasi ang laki ng leg room...para kang may sala. If you sit on the 2nd row most of the time (chaffeur driven), the Everest is your best option!

    Goodluck.

thanks a lot, guys, for your very valuable inputs. as of now, am just prepping up my xuv for her next owner (whoever that may be!) so she's pretty naman before she leaves me. then i can go ahead with the purchase, most probably at ford manila.

was also thinking that since 2008 is almost over, any idea of a new car of the same type or new model of eve coming out soon for early 2009?
sorry... fickle-minded ba? well, am a girl so i think that's expected of me?!?
    thanks!!!

Hello. I'm planning to buy a car and my first choice is the new Everest. Given that I am not really a car-guru, the reason of choosing Everest is because of its big space. I'm a female with no family yet but the space will still be very useful (kasi maraming gamit hehehe).

I asked some of my male friends about their opinions, most of them do not like it. Their reasons are: bumpy, the internals of it is an old model and the body/exterior is the only new thing (don't know how to explain this is car terms..), with the price of the 2.5 MT, they say that I can get a SUV that is newer in terms of its technology (e.g. CRV, Forester).

After reading your comments, I think most of you are happy with your Everest - in terms of fuel consumption, money value, performance.

How about resale value? Do you think Everest will still easy to sell in 3-5 years if it's in good condition?

Based on my friends feedbacks, minsan naguguluhan na tuloy ako. Hehehe. This is my first car - hard earned - so I wanted to be sure that I'm getting the right value :D

    Your comments are greatly appreciated!

P.S. Naakyat niyo na sa Baguio ang Everest? Kamusta naman ang takbo niya?

Hi Ms. Cheri. Sa resale, medyo mababa nga ang Ford in general. Pero after 5 years, they resale of cars tend to even out, kung mababa ang Ford, hindi na ganun kalayo. Kung mga 3 years or earlier, malayo, baka 6 digits pa pagitan. Baka ang concern nung male friends mo ay, mas bagay sayo ang 5 seat SUV kasi girl ka, na wala pang family. Malabo nga yung reasons nung guy friends mo for not getting the Eve, dahil ang external nya ang halos pareho than the previous generation Eve, but the interior is very good, lalo na if you get the ICE version.

Salamat po. Di ko kukunin yung ICE version, maganda nga kaso labas na sa budget ko yun. Hehehe.

I think test drive it first kasi when I drove it medyo mahirap compared to traditional cross-overs like CRV or Forester kasi mahaba and the hood is long, the wheel at the back is also quite a hindrance to parking. Subukan din ninyo sumakay sa 3rd row if the bumpiness is tolerable for your taste...

Pero pag ako sa inyo mag CR-V na lang kayo or Forester. Or you might wanna take a look at the Hyundai Santa Fe bagay na bagay sa girl and very nice and easy to drive. I also short listed the Everest before pero after test driving both I found the Santa Fe to be for me.

Maganda ride ng ford everest kasi ang lakas ng hatak compared to fortuner and santa fe. Panalo din mga offers nila. May kilala akong sales manager sa isang dealership, mahusay mag explain and the dealer gives the best package.

hmmm I'm surprised that a girl (single) is interested on the Eve, frankly speaking medyo mahirap kung first car mo.. function is the selling point of the Everest. well first as tidus said challenging i-drive siya lalo na kung limited parking, well kung maluwag naman ang pinupuntahan mo or you leave outside of the city and you will use it for business then I think that will be advisable.
Performance-wise, my Eve is well tested almost two years na siya no headaches, very good engine, no major maintenance whatsoever, the looks? ...simple lang maintain ko siyang stock.

Finally if you decided that it's for you... then use the Eve wisely and efficiently - the resale value will be compensated.
