I will bring it sa Casa to have it fixed. will update u guys kung ano problema at actions nila.

Hi everyone! I'd be interested to find out the answer to the same question. Im also planning to buy a new vehicle and eyeing the Ford Escape 2010 AT 4x2. Am just worried that it might be gulping gasoline just like the nissan xtrail that my mother owned ( seems to me it was consuming 6km/l).... inputs from Ford owners would be highly appreciated. I just cant take the dealer's word for it for obvious reasons. Thanks!

Hi, I drive a mazda tribute (06 model), the twin of the escape. If i'm not mistaken, the only difference with this new escape model in the engine dept is the new drive-by-wire technology; meaning, your gas pedal is connected to the ECU which in turn controls the carb or injectors unlike the older model which is direct to the carb. This setup would give you fuel savings in that the fuel does not get wasted when you depress the accelerator hard (it releases the fuel slowly to only what the engine needs or can accommodate). My fuel consumption is at 7km/li at best in city driving and around 9-11 km/li hiway. I dont think 10 km/li in city driving is realistic given these 2 models still sport the same 2.3l engines of the old models (unless they do a remapping of the ECU to be very fuel efficient this time but in doing so, I believe it would translate to a slower or a more unresponsive unit).

Thank you so much for the input. I think your fc is more believable than claims that it can go 9km/l city driving. On the other hand, it just broke my bubble ...Am really wanting an SUV since my old RAV needs to retire soon but I also want to get a break now from driving 7km/l just like my RAV. Oh well, much as it pains me to just go for a sedan, I think Im heading to that direction.

check out the current generation CR-V. The manual version seems to be getting a far better fc than its rivals

i think sa combination ng city at hi-way driving ang FC ng escape(2009) ay aabot ng 8++KM per liter.

I checked mine and I think it consumed that much.

What i dont like about Ford though is ang tagal ng back-up sensor ko. I called 3X na at lagi d available, but kung bibili ka meron available.

overall, i am ok with it.

I still can't figure out how to get the AUX function for the stock radio on the 2009 4x2 XLS. No mention in the owner's manual also.

So you can't use it to play iPod music.

actually kailangan mo pa atang pa setup ito...

according to an SA in Ford Global, the stereo is AUX capable pero walang naka setup na slot for it and you need to have this serviced pa.

I have someone selling his 2007 AT XLTescape to me. I love the color combination. Selling price is 750K pesos with 36.5K in the odo.
What do you think guys, is is worth to buy or better get a brand new one?

IMHO buy brand new. XLS 2010 will be less than 1M, we already have xlt 4x2. Iba pa rin pag brand new.

i surely would like too get a brand new as there's only around 400K difference. however, i just love the headlights & tail lights plus the 2 tone color of the 2007 model than the current brand new model. this is what what making me think 10X on which is which to grab.

    Hi,

It is a known problem of the stock tires, the Goodyear Fortera. Change the tires and the noise will be gone. Visit escapezone.ph for more info on escape and to meet other escape owners.

    Regards,
    Charles

Ask at http://forum.fordclubph.com ... many Escape owners there, and someone may even have access to an online version that's downloadable.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
