Hindi ba kaya ma fix ng 1m yung Everest kasi nung may naka display dito sa Mega "March 2005" sabi nung sales rep kaya daw...fit yun sa budget mo.

Ok naman performance kaya lang medyo mabigat yung body kaya better get M/t, though malakas naman once na mag spool yung turbo *80km/h, for a five seater very comportable (though meron pang third row seat pero pang children yun)

For 1m budget ok sya, If you willing to spend more then mas marami kang choice.

I beg to disagree that the Ford escape 2.0 is underpowered. I do have one and it is definitely within its capability. Ditto to whoever has the CRV as my Escape was actually used by Toyota for their marketing bulletin for the launching of the Fortunner. My unit was brought to BRC, together with a CRV and an X-Trail and I was most surprised with the results.

Result no.1 Escape registered the lowest interior and engine noise up to 160 kph. They installed a meter inside the engine compartment and interior for the test. Sorry for the CRV as it registered the highest noise level for the same test.

    2. Most powerful amongst the 4 was the X- Trail but will you settle for the semi-plastic design of your interiors?

    3. In terms of overall ride, the Escape was the closest to the Fortunner as it hugged the tracks of BRC owing to the wider tires it offered. Comment on the Fortunner wasn't finalized as they were using the demo unit which was a right-hander.

Best of all, the rental of the 3 test units were very inviting and they made my unit run only 130kph total for 5days including transportation from my place (Pque) to Batangas. Free gas and detailing.

    thanks!

well if you really have to get the oem brakes from the dealers then you really have to bite the bullet. there are a lot of good replacement brands out there.

kip, check mo muna thickness ng pads mo. baka naman pwede pang di palitan yan. 45,000 km is too short I think for brake pad replacement unless madalas ka hard braking. yung xto ko, i changed the front pads after 100K km. The whole set of brakepads/shoes for the xto costs more than P11,000 din btw, P5K+ for the front and P6.5K for the brake shoes at the rear, so yung P11+ na quote sayo is just about right.
Bendix brake pads daw sabi ni master CJ ok daw. Ask around na lang, pero kung ako sayo, I'd check the brake pad thickness myself muna before doing any changing. Madali namang makina thickness ng pads ng disc brakes. Just take out your wheels and the whole calipher (yun ba tawag dun) swings outwards. You can easily dismantle the pads for checking. Plus you usually change the front pads first, later na yung rear brakes since it's the front brakes that takes most of the burden.

kung gusto mo makatipid... mag bendix ka na lang (syempre yung pang escape... hmmm... meron ba nun?)

pero beware... hindi ganun ka ganda ang bendix... kumakain rin yan ng rotor (na mas mahal i replace!!!)

for me, i'd rather get OEM or better (performance stuff)... rather than replacements...

had a VR before and that combined with a heavy foot, i managed to use up my newly installed pads in about a month of heavy usage. Forgot the brand, but it was Australian. Also, during that time I was using that Australian one, I was running about 230 kph on the Skyway and had to hit the brakes, damn it wasn't bitting at high speeds! I thought I was going to hit the car in front of me (being used to OEM pads, I braked later). Luckily I didn't.

never again would I buy replacement parts... you may save up in the beginning... but if safety is my main concern, don't skimp on your brakes!!!!

    thanks for the tips guys!

    thanks! kiper

We use Bendix pads for almost all our vehicles (all the Benzes use them). Wala kaming problema with Bendix pads. They're cheap, too!

Just bring your worn pad to the store para mahanapan ng ka-match. No use spending so much on OEM Ford pads which do nothing other than turn your alloy wheel brown.

I don't think you need to buy those oem brake pads. My family is in the brake bonding and clutch relining business and I think similar shops can replace your brake pads for a much much lower price than your oem with the same performance. ^_^

When going uphill, the 2.0L engine of Escape seems not enough for its quite heavy entry-level SUV body. Hirap talaga. Naiiwan ng revo 2.0L gas on uphill terrain. But once it's medyo fast, ok na. Had my escape for almost two years now. slow to ok engine pick-up at start but zooms to 150kph with smoothness and ease. quiet engine... classy interior.

pero i heard 2.3L na lang viariant nila and yung V6. so ok ka na. good price.

i don't like xtrail. plastic yung loob.

Had a test drive of everest before. Me and my family did not like the suspension, mas malambot pa yung 2002 adventure ko. We settled with the escape 2.3 eventually and up to now, I'm happy with its performance, comfy ride and great interior.

I suggest you do test drive all your choices. Take your family with you para loaded sya when doing the test drive. Ask their comments - it's important coz when you do long drive on a family outing. it will make the difference.

Comments on Ford Escape!??
