Does anyone of you considering to purchase ECU programmer for our EX? I saw SCT SF3 programmer for 2012 ford explorer.
Does anyone of you considering to purchase ECU programmer for our EX? I saw SCT SF3 programmer for 2012 ford explorer.
I personally wouldn't touch the programming of the ECU for now. With all the electronics working for our EX, paranga nakakatakot. I read in the explorerforum na meron nag modify lang ng exhaust system and nag "DRONING" daw. I'd wait for another year or so in tweaking your ECU.
Just my two cents...
My plan for the EX is the intake, full exhaust and the tuner.

Greetings mga sirs, we are considering getting a 2.0 ecoboost, to those who own 1, is the engine underpowered like if the car is loaded with passengers ? Which ford dealer is highly recommended? Thank you and more power!
Been with this thread almost from the start but i have not read anyone acquiring an ecoboost from the group. However, there were some comments along the way if you can back read. For the price vs features difference, i would suggest better get the limited. As shown on your question, hindi ka pa nabili, meron ka ng apprehension. And if you will back read, someone posted here the gas consumption comparison that there's not much difference.
I think only Sir Niky had reviewed the 2.0 Ecoboost Explorer. wala atang owner nang 2.0 dito.
here's the Review: Ford Explorer 2.0L GTDi XLT AT with EcoBoost
The Ecoboost has more down-low torque than the V6, so it's no more underpowered than the V6 is when loaded.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
Thank u sir macsd, sir snoid_zero, and sir nilky for the replies....![]()
TSB Exhaust Smell Update:
Followed up with Ford Laguna since the start of the year. At first, na order na daw 2 piyesa. Then, tumawag ako to follow up and it turned out na wala palang na order at all. I called again to follow up at ang sabi "FOR PROCESSING" pa ng parts. Nainis ako so I called Ford Philippines to let them know na parang pina ikot ikot ako ng mga tao doon. Lo and behold, inayos agad ng Ford Philippines last week and just today I got a call again from Ford Philippines na meron na daw parating na piyesa. Leila of Ford Philippines will update me once the parts are delivered to Ford Laguna.
When in doubt of your dealership service, it's a good thing Ford Philippines has a customer hotline to file any complaints.
Hi guys... I'm considering this beautiful SUV if the trailblazer won't push through because they don't have units(reserved since december).... How are your rides I'll be going to ford alabang later to check it out. Oo nga pala may pila din ba dito like chevy?
nge hahaha thanks for the info but does this line go with the v6 as well?
ayaw na kasi namin ng monty, paj, fortuner... too common na but they're all good cars though.
you can't really compare monty and fort to the explorer since they're in a totally different class. now pajero on the other hand can be compared to the explorer but the pajero is an old car but very reliable. truthfully if you don't need the ground clearance and the off-road capability of the pajero, the explorer is worlds apart to the pajero on all other aspects besides those 2. the direct competitor of the explorer is the cx-9 but the cx-9 is outdated compared to the explorer but the all new cx-9 is about to be released this year. have you considered the all new santa fe? it's a pretty great car and the closest to the explorer interms of all the fancy gadgets the explorer offers.
The Santa Fe can't offer anywhere near as much space, though. But aside from that, the toys are nice. The only thing lacking, for me, with the TOTL Santa Fe is that the dashboard trim seems a bit... random... you've got beige, silver and gray and a splash of fake carbon-fiber accent. The color scheme of the lower-end variant is much better sorted, since it's carbon-fiber on black and gray.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
I waited 4-6 months also for the Limited V6. Worth the wait I agree! Loving the ride comfort and the many features. For the price, it is really quite a value. People ask me, "but why FORD? Walang re-sale value yan." I just tell them, "it's a FOR KEEPS car so I never considered the re-sale value." Enjoy the moment of ownership rather than thinking far ahead into the future...
I digress...
By the way, if you are really willing to wait, then GO AND LINE UP FOR THE EXPLORER SPORT VERSION! It doesn't have the same many features as the Limited pero you get the twin turbo charged direct injection engine.... VROOM VROOM VROOM!
