Went to pick up the window deflector kit today at Ford EDSA. Items came out from a sealed box. Guess what? After close inspection, one of the front vent was cracked! Actually, a piece was cracked off.

Better check your accessories closely! Ford EDSA will re-order the window deflector 4-pc kit next week...

Ano ba yung last part? Prevent contamination from what and what accumulation in the future? Di ko pa sila natawagan coz I'm still fixing my schedule. Medyo busy lately.
Bro, i got the same txt from Global. I never bothered to check with them pa. Paki post na lang after they have got your explo done. TIA

I also noticed that my C.R. says my Explo is 4.0L dapat 3.6L lang. I haven't asked them yet coz I was in a hurry kanina.

Initially i was thinking ofd the 5K PMS before but when i spoke with Ford Alabang service nung nagpa upgrade ako ng MFT version, 10K daw dapat ang PMS. So Global might be pulling our legs on the 5K.

Sayang you kinda missed it out. I will check it out with Alabang next time i happen to be in the area next week.

On your typo erroe sa CR, i don't think it's important or would matter. What's important is the engine & chasis numbers.

Brought in my Explo for 7:40 am schedule and I picked it up around 2:30. And to my surprise, they already did the MFT upgrade, wala daw masyado pila (and mabilis siguro internet connection hehe). As for the engine cooling fan check up, yung unit ko di daw kasali sa "recall" kasi hindi daw kasali yung VIN number ko sa listahan nila for the recall.

5,000 km PMS cost 8,401.82 petots! But in the job order, it was under the 10,000 km PMS check up.

So ano ba talaga ang gagawin natin for the PMS? Some say it's every 5K; may iba 10K; tapos ngayon sabi sa akin every 6 months! Ano ba talaga? Nalilito na ako

About the MFT upgrade, ok sya, iba na itsura ng user interface. Mas responsive compared to the previous one but not so much faster (per may difference). FM band already has 3 bands (2 lang sa previous version) and plus the compass. Pero wala pa din GPS.

As to how we came to talk about how he came from Audi... when he opened the trunk, tanong niya bakit daw naka-manual, sabi ko kasi yung mga gwardya sa mga malls, sinasara kahit automatic, di kasi alam.

As far as Ford Alabang Group and the manual are concerned, ang PMS is every 10,000kms or 6 months whichever comes first. But if your EX is driven every day in extreme conditions, then it is highly recommended to go every 5,000kms.

For mine, I'm scheduled for March 2013 following the prescription date since hindi ako aabot sa 10K. I'm currently only at 2,500kms since date of pick up in September. Also, check the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor as per manual.

I finally installed the oem window deflector kit. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Mejo tricky yung front since you have to insert the tab at the edge. Had to fill the gap with black gasket maker. Ok naman.

Ordered these from amazon: 2011 2012 Ford Explorer Rear Bumper Protector Guard

Will go next week to Mother's in San Juan to have them install Xpel door edge guards.

By the way, papalitan ng Ford Alabang Group ang wiper ko for warranty. Then, I'm also going to show them the burnt or bad smell after/during hard acceleration sometime next week.

So mukhang talagang every 6 months ang PMS ng Explo natin! Ang mahal naman ng maintenance.

Ford Global now charges 6,300 for the window deflector kit. Mukhang mas mura talaga sa iba basta wag Autohub group hehe!!

They cannot void warranty simply because a seldom used car did not meet the 6 months PMS. PMS should never be time driven but rather milage base. What part does wear when a car is not used & the same manner does casa do PMS on cars that they cannot sell for more than 6 months? The 6 months is nothing but for them to earn revenue, nothing more. The reality is the warranty can only be voided when there's changes in the car reference to the original that is not done by casa or warranty expires, beyond that, they cannot void it.

The 10K is reasonable enough base on the type of oil being used. I was informed by Alabang that Explo oil is good for 15K being full synthetic. Kung yung ngang burnt smell they cannot resolve, so what else would breakdown on a brand new car after 5K or 10K of use ? The fact is they will just go for change oil & filter on PMS as that is part of normal wear. Any other part they won't dare to change cause it will be charge to warranty thus free & they don't get revenue.

    Trying again:

    Here's the Right Hand Side

    Here's the Left Hand Side

Here's the rubber gasket i put kasi me gap at the edge tab when installed. The edge tab is installed between the mirror cover and the rubber

Besides the gap, i think it looks good. Preparation kit is included so it is easy.

Maybe we should clarify this matter with Ford Philippines directly?

Just came from my local dealership to have the wiper replaced and demonstrate the smell. So today, test drove the EX with the service technician and service advisor. At first trial, all clear. Did a runabout, then boom, smell engulfed the cabin. The smell from their observation came from the back then circulated to the front. The smell is apparently being sucked in from underneath.

The service advisor and technician quickly checked for any advice as they too were troubled by the strong foul smell. Then, while hopelessly feeling na wala namang solution pa,but there it is! A TSB FINALLY!!! The service technician told me that it just came out recently, as in December 10th 2012!!! The TSB calls for changing parts in the behind rear bumper since it is where the exhaust smell comes in or is sucked in during hard acceleration. A total of 5 parts will be replaced as part of the TSB.

    Thank you Lord!

Thanks for the info. Sa Ford Edsa ka ba? I'll just wait for Ford Global to text me regarding this issue. I don't do hard accelerations so ok lang siguro to wait

Ford Laguna ko nakuha unit ko. Hindi ko sure if they will notify us for this. Parang kailangan ipakita mo na merong amoy to prove. I don't do hard accelerations unless need to.

This is a great finding bro if ever that it's the real culprit. let us know once your's is done and for certain period of acceleration , no foul odor come's out. Then will share this to all dealership via FCP to get all explo with this issue fixed. Maybe they can share this finding sa main plant as for sure they experience the same in all units. Then they can come up with a once & for all fix.

Actually, the advice is from FORD already. The dealers are now linked up to Ford Philippines and Ford Philippines is linked up to Ford USA directly for any repair and maintenance advice. The difference is you will have to take initiative in having your local Ford dealer do the warranty servicing or I believe you will not be contacted at all, except na lang if its really major.

Ford Laguna has already placed the order for the parts needed. Papalitan ang 5 parts sa rear cabin vents located behind the rear bumper. Then, lalagyan nila ng sealant sa rear area din to make sure nothing gets sucked in. Sana talaga ito na ang sagot. Apparently, even without hard acceleration there is still very minute exhaust fume being sucked into the cabin. Parang "killing me softly". Good thing we use this car 2 to maximum 4 times a week lang for now. *whew*

If you have experienced the smell, then it would be best for you to take in to any FORD Dealer for warranty.

Please take a look at this thread: Exhaust Smell - Ford Explorer Ranger Enthusiasts "Serious Explorations"®

Mukhang nahihigop talaga ang smell through the rear area. You will see from the pics.
