They've improved also in terms of quality.

We've had many Fords too in the past couple of decades so no need for a time machine. lol

I think di naman magiging problema ang supply ng new Explorer once it's really officially launched here. Cause we are THE ONLY ASEAN country which has USDM cars like the Explorer in the lineup (also Expedition and E150 and formerly even the F150). So walang agawan yan hehehe... Says a lot about the tastes of local politicians!![]()
*tidus: Ang sama mo naman dun sa naka-display na Explorer sa MIAS.
Nasasaktan ako. :hysterical:
Ako lang ba nakakapansin, Re: Explorer in MIAS.
Ang bakla ng kulay. Tapos hindi pala maganda pag wala nang "Explorer" badge sa door.
Nakaka-inis lang binalik nila yung Sunroof![]()
They will release the 3.5L V6 engine first later this year and then next year they will release the IMO better pick 4 banger ECOBOOST engine...

Read the comments below...
The Ecoboost engine in the Explorer is a 2.0L in-line 4... Yep wag magulat only a 4 cylinder pero its more than up to the task a V6 can handle kasi turbocharged and direct injected kinda like Hyundai's GDi or Volvo's GTDi with the benefit of fuel economy compared to naturally aspirated 6 bangers... Ford calls the technology Ecoboost...
The Explorer Ecoboost comes in FWD only (in the US the Ecoboost is the optional engine)... the 3.5L V6 comes in FWD and 4WD (the standard engine)...
Let me get this right, magkakaroon ba ng 3.5L ( I stand corrected) V6 dito sa atin or yung 2.0L lang? I read somewhere na available yung 3.5L V6 sa explorer eh.
Fasten your seatbelt! Or else...Driven To Thrill!
Both will be available. Yung V6 muna later this year, yung Ecoboost next year...
So I guess I'm right in assuming na TOTL nga yung V6. Sana that one will have 4WD nga. Sayang kung FWD lang eh IMO. Ford is producing good engines so far even with their diesel engines.![]()

Even if its an optional engine, I don't see the 237hp 2.0 liter EcoBoost as a top of the line engine.
Its really just a more fuel efficient alternative, but in terms of performance it doesn't really outperform the more powerful 290hp V6 engine.
The 2.0 liter EcoBoost FWD model also has a lower towing capacity of only 2,000 lbs compared to the 5,000 lb towing capacity of the FWD & 4WD V6 models.
Another thing, the TOTL Explorer is the luxurious 4WD Limited V6, shouldn't the TOTL engine be in the TOTL model? hmmmm.....

Tignan na lang natin basta sakin TOTL is the more expensive model regardless of performance... Although di pa nalalabas yung Ecoboost maskin sa US pag sinabi kasing optional sa US it denotes "adding" which means it will cost more than the standard. Of course assuming similar trim levels. FWD V6 VS FWD Ecoboost and everything else the same...
By the way the Ecoboost might have lower HP and torque but it has better torque on the low end. Might be the engine of choice for these kinds of vehicles. Torque at low revs plus fuel economy benefits...
