The 237hp 2.0 EcoBoost was also tuned to be fuel efficient.
Ford said it's 30% more fuel efficient than the outgoing 4.0 liter V6 model.
A 30% improvement in fuel economy means...
city: 19 mpg (data from Ford)
hwy: est.26 mpg (estimated figure from automobilemag)
Lancer Evolution X
city: 16 mpg (M/T), 17 mpg (Twin Clutch SST)
hwy: 22 mpg (M/T), 22 mog (Twin Clutch SST)
Not bad considering the much larger Explorer SUV weighs 2+ tons.

I think thats what they plan.
If you think about it...
...compared to the USDM Escape, the face of the current Everest actually shows a bit more of the new Ford SUV-face.
Not sure about the RP/Asia-Pacific Ford Escape, but Ford will end the production of the USDM Escape late next year.
Replacement is expected to be based on the European Ford Kuga.Last edited by AG4; July 29th, 2010 at 07:28 PM.
