Official EPA ratings in the US is 17 city and 25 highway and 20 combined...
So in km/L that is 7.2km/l city, 10.62km/L in the highway and 8.5km/L combined...
Respectable for a V6 in an SUV...

In the US quite accurate in fact sa US EPA ratings are considered conservative... US ha and not Philippines. Cause US city driving is a totally different animal from Philippine city driving...
Sorry no idea on actual technical specs... Pero from what I know the new Explorer is lighter cause its no longer a ladder frame like the old one...
Ah ok. Parang SF na rin pala yan. Sure na mas maganda ride quality nyan than the present Explorer.![]()
lighter nga daw..with aluminum Hood din, power to weight ratio had been improved. Kaso sa real life application sa traffic satin not much of an effect yan..
Kung mura lang sana ang Gas..srap mag ipon para sa Explorer.![]()
Wala bang Everest sa US? Im blown away by the new Ford Explorer, Sana may Diesel version, sagwa naman kasi kung iconvert sa LPG ito. Iniisip ko lang na kung malakas lang din ang FC nito then Id rather get the latest Porsche Cayenne or a Range Rover.
Sober naman Sir, Im just implying na kung pareho lang yung FC ng latest explorer sa Cayenne and Rover, then dun ako sa masmahal ang value, tutal pareho lang naman ang kain sa fuel eh, mas-sosyal pang SUV and performer. Im not sure though kung may diesel variants yung Cayenne.
Porsche has a diesel Cayenne, but the price is TBA.

If you have millions to burn, go ahead and buy one of those P5M+ luxury SUVs.
The new Explorer is a good crossover SUV, at least in its segment.

Clarify ko lang... the new Explorer comes in two main variants... V6 and the 2.0L Ecoboost engine, right?
The reason why I asked about the everest, to check if US uses diesel fuel too. (clueless eh). Re: 2.4 Million, masmahal nga ang Cayenne and Ranger diba, so kung gagastos ka nalang din na parehas ang kain sa FC, Id go with the latter. tsaka maski na you have money to burn, Im thinking long term frugality din thats why diesel variant parin. walang basagan ng trip hehehe
and here i am thinking how the hell did the ranger become more expensive than the explorer. or how a ranger suddenly in league with the cayenne!
Range Rover pala pinaguusapan nio! hehe
The last rugged Explorer was the 1st gen model (The one used in the 1st Jurassic Park movie). The outgoing model had a ladder frame (body on frame), but it wasn't much of an off-roader.
The latest Explorer is a crossover SUV, but it was designed to be able to do light off-roading, which is more than enough for most people.

hehehe, this is actually a given. im just saying that in my opinion, if I have the money to burn for the Cayenne or for other more expensive luxury cars then I'd choose them if the new Explorer's Fuel consumption is just the same and not efficient at all. It's just a preference.
