it isn't that fuel efficient, the difference is only around 1.5-2 miles/liter but the performance difference is just worlds apart. reminds me of the forester 2.0 and the 2.5xt.

If the Ecoboost Explorer is officially rated at 20 mpg city and 28 mpg highway, equivalent to 8.5 km/l city and 11.9 km/l highway, I'd say, given the traffic here in Metro Manila, its real time FC would be around 6-6.5 km/l city. It would go down to 5.5 km/l city if fully laden. So it's not that fuel efficient as Ford's been advertising. On the highway, it's not hard to achieve the official 11.9 km/l figure

We can't do a direct comparison since city driving in Metro Manila includes much much more stop and go traffic than in the US.
If you want to compare it to something, the FWD 2.0 EcoBoost Explorer is almost as efficient as the smaller Camry 3.5 V6 sedan when tested in the same cycle.

    4WD Explorer V6 = 17 mpg city / 23 mpg hwy
    FWD Explorer 2.0 Ecoboost = 20 mpg city / 28 mpg hwy

    For comparison:
    Camry 3.5 V6 = 20 mpg city / 29 mpg hwy

If you look at the numbers, its not really that fuel efficient, but it is fuel efficient by large SUV standards since it's comparable to that of a mid-size V6 sedan.

PS: The FWD 2.0 EcoBoost Explorer XLT is lighter than the 4WD V6 Limited (4,458 lbs vs 4,695 lbs) and produces more torque than the V6 at a much lower rpm (270 lb-ft * 1,750-4,000 rpm vs 255 lb-ft * 4,100 rpm).

Ganyan talaga ang mga mapagsamantala during seller's market. Pag naubusan na sila ng buyer, naglulumuhod naman
    para lang makabenta.

I was informed by Ford Alabang that they already stopped taking reservations which really make sense kasi 100+ na ang
listahan nila and yet wala naman delivery the pass 2 months. This monthend meron daw parating as confirmed by Global
but very limited units only. Sana naman makasama na yung order ko this time, October pa ako nagpareserved despite all the
    documentations i have.

Sana nga makuha na sa tyaga. Just put your reservation into the que and forget about it. After a while you'll notice it's your turn already. By my estimate base on my discussions with the sales manager & FGP customer service, most likely delivery of units will improve in the next coming months kasi the delay was more on the correction fix on the initial units.

An pila is still on the limited edition. they don't accept yet ecoboost reservation as they haven't figured out the final price.
I was told it's somewhere 1.8M is what their looking at. I've seen 2 units already both blue colored, first was the one mentioned in previous post that was in Baguio & last Saturday in Ford Alabang being test driven by FGP sales. I still prefer the limited version kasi more features aside from just right engine. I doubt if the ecoboost at full seating capacity whether it would be able to climb the Alabang flyover with ease.

oh, if the explorer ecoboost would be priced at 1.8M, then that would be very attractive. but of course, it might eat up on the sales of the everest. let's see how the pricing goes, MIAS is just around the corner. i suppose they would announce the pricing at the launch.
