The Sport variant is not worth it IMO. Some features of the Limited variant arr not available in the Sport variant. These features are:
- Bi-Xenon HID headlamps
- Active Park Assist
- Power Tilt and Telescopic Steering Wheel
- PowerFold 3rd row bench seats
- Rain sensing windshield wipers
the explorer sport isn't really practical. from reviews, it's not really that much more powerful compared to the limited. for that price iba na lang kunin ko. if you want a powerful and sporty SUV kunin mo na lang x5m,x6m, mb ml63 but those are so darn expensive, cherokee srt8 ka na lang in white. those SUV's will out run and out handle most a lot of sports cars available today in our market.
After several mishaps on the third row seat switches, I've finally decided to fabricate a cover. Here's what it looks like:

Good thinking dragonexplorer. I had a few mishaps myself with that exposed switch. Saan mo pinagawa yan? Wala akong kakilalang plastic fabricator pero metal fabricator meron hehe
Ayos! Sa picture, akala ko plastic din. Stainless pala
Saw a red 2013 Explorer today. I guess yan yung cherry red?! But the mags are still the same as ours, yung "megatron look", akala ko nagpalit na ng mags, di pa pala. I assumed it was the 2013 model coz I looked at the side mirrors at wala yung small mirror sa upper left side ng left side mirror.
Instead of paying extra for a customized set up on a hidden gun compartment, Explorer na lang ang ginamit![]()

di sa akin yon bro, sa kapatid ko yung c63 tapos s550 sa tatay ko. yung x5m hati kami ng tatay ko.:bwahaha: at sa states yon where most cars are almost half off compared to prices of cars out here.
I bought from visualgarage.com. Cost me around $110 all in with custom fees.
GREAT! While the Exhaust smell is still not resolved, here comes another new issue in my EX: A-PILLAR RATTLE!!! I know there's a TSB out for it, but its just annoying when issues come out all of a sudden. *sigh*
Going back to the required octane rating for the Explorer, I just checked the manual and it says minimum of 87 octane rating. Is the 87 octane in the US same as our octane rating? Sabi kasi ng kapatid ko alam niya magkaiba daw. Can anyone explain?![]()
Their 87 Octane is similar to our 93 Octane. Their 89 is near or slightly lower than our 95 Octane.
US uses the average of RON and MON (Vehicle manufacturer has this data). We use straight RON. Quickest way to compute is to add 5 to the US Rating.
So, for our EX, pwede na talaga ang UNLEADED 93 Octane. Using Unleaded 95 Octane may be better pero it depends what brand since each oil player puts its own additives.
BUYER BEWARE: I would not use Independent Oil Players' if I were you. They source their fuels from different places and with few or no additives. Stick with the top 3 players and kung walang wala TOTAL is ok also.
Ive installed my sct performance. Very noticable ang gain on hp and torque. Nawala totally ang lag. Ive notice nawala ang burn smell during hard acelaration. Still under observation pa. I will try doing dyno test. Im at pico de loro now. I saw two Exporer.
Were did you get that performance upgrade? Would be nice to see the dynonrun results. Thamks.
