Had mine done yesterday at Ford Alabang kaya lang sa Monday ko pa makukuha yung car since they found out the thermostat had small leak causing my coolant to drain faster than normal. Request pa sila ng replacement part.

Just saw some write ups about the refreshed 2016 Explorer showcased at the ongoing LA auto show. Seems like a 2.3 Liter ecoboost found in the mustang will replace the 2.0 version. The front also has some styling change making it look more masculine and with less resemblance to a land rover front. Interesting, it might be worth waiting for this to hit PH shores which will most likely be end of Q2 next year.

Mas gusto ko pa rin yung current Explo natin. Masyadong pilit yung facelift ng bagong Explo.

*Macsd: we both roughly got our Explo at the same time and I never got any recall/upgrade letters from Ford ever. Sino ba ang nagpapadala, Ford Phils mismo or from the dealer where we bought it from?

Is the Explorer Sport a V6 or V6 Ecoboost?

Got my letter from Ford Alabang. May be you have to knock on your dealer. Funny thing is i got my unit at Global but all my service is in Alabang and as they turn out, Alabang sent me the recall letter.

I saw a Ford Explorer Sport display in Greenbelt 5 last Sunday. It's nice! kaya lang I'm pretty much done with SUVs for now. I need a van. I digress...

Anyway, I tested the turn signal levers of the Ford Explorer Sport at ang smooth ng lever operations when you push down or up.

Sa inyo mga sirs, malambot din ba ang turn signal lever ninyo when pushing up or down pag turn right or left?

Update on the smell during hard acceleration. I had ford libis honor the warranty of my explorer. They ordered the parts and it took about two weeks. Then it took another four days to remove the bumper and install the new parts that will help minimize the smell.

Result: i took the explorer out of town during the holidays and thrashed it continuously over 300km to test if the fixes worked. I think about 80-90% of the smell is gone. Even my wife and kids noticed it. It wont really ever disappear but the fixes are a big improvement. The smell sometimes still gets in (but NOT nearly as strong as before) but this usually happens during the first hard acceleration from engine start up. After that wala na. And even then its just a faint smell.

I was kinda worried about new creaks and rattles because of the amount of replacement work done, but kudos to the service personnel as there was none. The car is more enjoyable to drive briskly now.

Sadly lahat ng explorers ay mayroon na burnt smell. You can read this sa US forums everywhere. The smell is very apparent under WIDE OPEN THROTTLE.

The explorer has a design flaw in the rear area. The exhaust tips are not long enough or not designed accordingly to the vacuum effect inside the cabin. You can actually feel the heat emitting from the exhaust at the latch of the tail gate.

Nonetheless, the explorer is really fun to drive especially gas prices are low these days.

no wonder there are so many slightly used NEW BODY 2011- 2013 2nd hand Ford Explorers selling at cheap and below 2 million price nowadays, i even saw 1.4m only!....

Factory defects maybe the reasons why Explorer owners are selling their units cheap and still very new

Though mine was worked upon already by Ford Alabang and had those slight smell after they touch it, now a days, i don't get to smell it anymore. It's either i get used of slowly gasing up not to hit 3Krpm abruptly. If it get's to annoy me later, thinking of extending those exhaust up until the bumper line.
