Ewan ko bro hehe, the last time I bought a car was like 9 years ago. The one before that was a Pajero circa 1994

ako kasi i don't believe in it anymore for naturally aspirated cars, maybe turbo sports cars pwede pa. but i don't keep my cars that long usually 3 years palit na ako, so when i sell my cars wala pa problem. ewan ko lang in the long run if you don't follow proper break-in.

I tend naman to buy a car that's a huge step up from its rival ex. Civic FD and now the Explorer. And use it as long as I can. Finally got my Explorer this afternoon and took it around the city. I'd say the V6 is way overpowered for driving around here in Cebu hehe.

Thanks to all for helping me choose this.

Congrats on your new ride, bro! I'm sure you will enjoy the comfortable ride and sound system. I use Caltex Gold 95-R. Had a chance to use Silver 91-R a couple of months ago and I felt the power decreased. Iba ang hatak when using 95-R.

Sakin naman nung una, shell fuelsave unleaded 91octane. Switched to vpower nitro yung 95octane nila, almost same FC pa din e, mejo mataas but mas ok sa hatak. Will be trying petron xcs naman.

Couple of questions lang sana mga bro, here's what I noticed after 3 days of use:

My FC is at 2.7 km/l, accdg to the display. Is this accurate? The 500 initial fuel free from the dealer lasted only about 20km or so.. *_*

Collision alert is activated but I haven't seen it working yet, when and how does it really work?

It's a pain in the ass every time you turn on the climate and it's not on recycled air. Dapat ba you leave the climate on all the time when you turn off the engine?

Which cellphone is compatible for Bluetooth messaging? I can use my iPhone 4 for calls but not for SMS.

Can I change the HID to something a bit more white and powerful?

If I'm after better FC , anong recommended fuel?

    Overall it's one helluva CUV/SUV

After you fill a full tank, go to the settings or I think Fuel Economy setting at the left driver console. Reset by pressing ok on the wheel. That will erase and reset the previous setting. I believe that the console reads KM per 100L. I may be wrong about 2014 MY tho.

The collision alert system works while you are moving on the road and a car suddenly stops in front of you or another vehicle suddenly crosses in front of you. It will beep and you will see a red light on the dash board.

I have not paired any phones to the MFT yet after reading so many issues with the system. IPODs already have issues with the MFT so I will wait after the update.

i haven't had any issues on mine. on my ipod i just plug it in through the usb, on my iphone everything works fine through bluetooth naman. i haven't tried sending sms through the mft but i think MFT will only notify you if you have an sms, i'm not sure if you can read and sens sms through your MFT.

The only thing I did wireless from my phone to the MFT via bluetooth was when I played songs from my Galaxy S3. It worked. For SMS and phone calls, never tried those functions.

    Cheer!!

To be honest, hindi ko alam what speed it works. Parang it has a mind of its own. Pag gusto nya mag alert there it goes and pag hindi wala din. That's technology!

Meron Technical Service Bulletin for the smell. TSB 12-12-4. Bring it to your dealer. Replicate the event. Ihataw mo at ipaamoy mo sa kanila. Make sure maaamoy nila to the point na mahihilo na sila haha!

Then, mention the TSB 12-12-4. Pa order mo parts sa kanila para isabay na sa first 1,000 PMS.

Collision alert is distance sensor not speed. It work's or alarm's once the preset distance is reached once the car is moving. In a way, proportionate ang distance-speed ratio such that when in traffic shorter distance but when in high speed, it alerts at longer distance.

IMHO. It's more of factory preset to which the norm as safety standard, manufacturers don't allow it's setting to be altered once it get's out their production floor. I don't even think casa service is equipped to tinker with it.
