    glntVR,

    very nice.

what are the freebies that came with the 2.350M price tag? ford alabang is not giving much: 3-y LTO reg, matting, tint (3M), emergency roadside assistance, 1000km PM service. i was told that i am 5th in the reservation list for the whites. darn, mukhang medyo matagal pa bago makuha yung unit.

    Very nice Ford Explorer indeed!

I already made a reservation but I'm still concerned with several issues I've read in a US forum on the new Exporer - explorer forum.com. They had issues on the ff:
    1) windshield noise
    2) Right door and tailgate alignment
    3) Power steering loss
    4) Overheating

These issues happened quite early, some with just 5k miles! I just hope the units they bring here in the Philippines will have these issues corrected.

So far after driving it for a couple of days, I'm already used to the microsoft sync. Although there's a bit of lag, I can live with it.

Here's our unit with my brother's montero
maybe it's because of the camera angle, kaya tuloy ang liit ng tingin ko sa montero
Congrats on your new ride sir! how I envy you.....

damn that's a huge turn off for me if explorer owners experience this here. i just hope the philippine units won't have these problems until it's time for me to buy a car by next year.

Sounds worrying. But there's a TSB (technical service bulletin) about the cooling fan already, so the local units should have the upgraded units.

Just like with the Camaro. First batch ones in the US, and there was a laundry-list on the Camaro forums as long as my arm about problems (transmission dies, limp mode, rattles, shakes, brake retaining clips (which locks the brakes and stalls the car), blah, blah, blah), but after the first batch, things got better.

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...

    Most likely.
Production of the new Explorer started early December 2010, so its already been in production for 10.5 months.

Haven't driven it in nlex or slex yet but I've driven it over 100kph for short distances so I can't give much feedback yet regarding the noise. If there are any problems with our unit, I'll try to post it here to make you guys aware of any problems.

I think the freebie we got was an ipad and the usual freebies. Nothing extra. hahaha

We still don't have the unit, we said around December na lang para 2012 registration. And we chose the 20K worth of fuel instead of the ipad.

Wala bang binigay na cash discount? Kahit 5K man lang?

According to my dad, none even if he's friends with Willy Tee Ten. Or maybe he just didn't haggle much. hahaha

FC so far, I've been driving it with a really heavy foot (mabigat talaga paa ko) and semi traffic route. Based on the trip computer its around 4km/l. Not bad, just to give you an idea, I only manage 5.5km/l on my Xtrail 2.5L CVT, around 4.5km/l on a 3.5 V6 Accord, and around 6-8km/L on 1.6-1.8liter cars.

^ Break-in mode pa yan. It will improve by the time naman siguro. Not that it would matter to the owner. hehe
