Hi Everyone, just wanted to consult regarding PMS --

The dealer keeps on calling to have checks every 6 months or 10,000KM. In my case I'm always hitting 6 months without going through 10,000km. Do you guys follow the 6 month rule or do you wait for 10,000km? My oil health indicator is currently at 50%.

    Thanks!

Just follow the 10,000 km interval. Dealers keep's reminding on 6 months as they need revenue.

ako i have mine serviced at 8-10months na lang just to keep the dealer happy baka kasi i deny warranty ko. so far ok naman sa kanila. kasi i've owned my explorer more than 2 years now and i only have 14k km on mine. sa ford bgc ok lang naman daw 8 months instead of 6 kasi baka daw ma deny warranty ko pag lumagpas pero last pms ko i waited 10 months sabi ko na lang na kalimutan ko ok lang naman daw.

Sakin din ang advice is 8months max.. Pero last time 6 1/2 months palang dinala ko na kahit 2,5t kms palang natakbo, may other concerns din kasi.

Btw, tanong lang sirs.. How often do you wax your car? Machine or hand lang?

I also don't follow the 6 month PMS. Since I bought mine Dec 2011, I've only had 2 PMS done... 1st was the first 1,000 km which Ford Global did nothing, tinignan lang, wala man lang change oil, kaya pala libre Then the next one was in 2012 for the 10T PMS but my Explo only had about 4T km mileage. My next one will be this weekend kasi buong 2013 hindi ko pina-check, naawa naman ako sa Explo hehe But I will insist to give my Explo another 10T PMS (actual mileage is only 8,500 km), not 20T PMS.

Depends on how frequent you use your car.. Let's say if every day kahit once or twice a month will do.. I prefer machine wax..

My EX is almost 1 year old and around 3.5k Kms pa lang.. Aside from the 1k check up, just did the change oil thing last month..

Before, I experience “throttle lag” with my EX.. I thought putting a K&N typhoon intake would be the remedy. That time I also wanted to put a throttle controller because that remedied the throttle lag in my yaris, but I still opted for the typhoon intake.. sad to say it’s still there. But the EX growls like a beast and I believe and felt that there’s a gain in torque and hp as I did not make any dyno run that time (only relying on K&N’s dyno run result).
Fast forward the EX is in manila, now is the right time to visit speedlab. There goes the unichip. Now my initial experience is that the throttle lag that I’m experiencing is gone. Wow! Just a little step on the gas there goes the growl and the EX moves right away. I went home to Alabang late Tuesday night, and tried going 160 kph in a breeze in skyway. I also felt the difference in torque and power after the unichip installed.
Now there’s a few what ifs in my mind:
    1. What if I did not put the typhoon kit and just directly opted for the unichip, will it be the same response/outcome? Will the throttle lag disappear?
    2. What if I just put the throttle controller without the unichip and typhoon kit, will the throttle lag disappear? (I’m just too afraid to try it out baka may magloko pa at mapagastos pa)
    3. What if I just opted for the sct flash programmer? Will it remove the throttle lag? And be at comparable performance with unichip?

By the way, the EX without any modifications is a fast SUV. Just like to tweak it more hehe. And now I’m very satisfied with my EX!

i usually get my car waxed every other month, usually kasi ganon lang katagal tumatagal yung wax, pag mas matagal sa 2 months ang bilis na kumapit ng dumi lalo na pag umulan. i bring it to hillsborough since i don't have time to do it myself.

What a sad day, my Explo will be spending the weekend in Fort Global. Ang galing kasi ng timing when the touch screen broke down. I have a scheduled PMS today (Saturday) and eksakto kahapon biglang di na nag-on yung touch screen when I started the engine. No backup camera and no radio to listen to while driving home yesterday. Luckily the aircon was still functioning.

Or maybe it was MFT software-related?

Oh my, is this another thing that we have to worry about after that smell thing or just an isolated case?

Sir ganyan din nangyayari sakin, pa sumpong sumpong then pag nangyayari, nagrereboot siya after ilang mins then lalabas "performing scheduled system maintenance". Also asked for software update, wala daw. Mejo di accommodating yung SA na naassign sakin nung time na yun e

Will get my Explo this afternoon after having the PMS & engine detailing done.

After a series of tests, they advised me that there's a broken module (whatever that is) that caused my Explo's radio not functioning. According to them that it's covered by the warranty so they contacted the Ford plant for processing. If approved, they'll have to order the module from the US which will take about a month.

They also told me na mahina na daw yung battery. It's not covered by the warranty anymore coz 18 months lang daw pag battery.

Anyway, here's what I suddenly thought... hindi kaya yung mahinang battery ang cause ng hindi pag-on ng radio?

I was in ford alabang earlier, asked my SA with regards to that prob (kinabahan ako baka magloko din yung sa akin), he told me that they had 1 incident that a customer's MFT screen went black and with no aircon.. They unplug the module/plug and re insert it. Ok na daw, til now hindi pa daw bumabalik yung customer..

    HTH

Mabuti na lang pwede switch on yung aircon via the control panel below the touch screen.

I already brought home my Explo today. Sabi ng SA na yung API or APIM module ang may problema na o-orderin pa sa US.

    I think eto yung...
