Thanks bro. I've requested the program already. I'm sure you will not regret it. Yesterday after we've put the ECU back to stock on my EX and when we drove out together, i have to stop just to install the program back. Even my neighbor had an EX and ask me what is SCT at my back and i let him test drove my unit and he want to have the SCT as well but i told him its to late.

Hi sirs. I have a very newbie question, our Explorer is up for its 1K - 1 month PMS, does it call for a change oil? This is the first time we ever owned a Ford so I really do not know much about the vehicle. And are there anything to look out for? I have also been told that if I had to reschedule my PMS it will no longer be free, is this true? The unit came from Ford Alabang.

Thanks and your inputs are greatly appreciated.

Got back my explo earlier after a week of TSB on fumes in cabin issue from Ford Alabang. Hataw agad pag pasok ng SLEX to test the effectiveness.
I would say about 80% improved than before. Now it takes more pumping to the 3K rpm level before you get to smell it. So kung biglaan lang ang acceleration at hindi nakababad, hindi cya nagaamoy. But if pump release pump cycle, it will come to certain point magaamoy uli. kaya dahan-dahan na lang para wala ng amoy totally, and all i smell if the original brand new smell.

They also replaced total of 5 hoses sa cooling system, thermostat , set of grills for air inlet, and anti-freeze. This is part of the new TSB daw.

You can request for an oil change but at your expense (that's what my friend did). Yung sa akin hindi pinalitan. I think sa 5,000 km PMS or 6 months (whichever comes first) is the next oil change. It's a very stupid schedule coz they base the PMS on time (6 months) or warranty could be voided. Or maybe that's just in Ford Global. Ako, walang pakialam, I follow every 5,000 km for PMS hehe

Yes alam ko dapat para libre yung 1K PMS, dapat mo dalhin within a month or 2 ata (it's free coz wala naman papalitan, lumalabas na labor lang ang free hehe).

Bro, better not wait for the letter. Call up Ford Alabang and tell them you want to get a schedule for the TSB of your unit. They will work on it.
Ako wala rin letter, i just drop by and told them this & that. Immediately, they put me on schedule. Remember i took my unit from Global, but never came back to them after my 1K PMS.

Makati area kasi ako kaya sa Global lang ako.

I don't do hard accelerations so maybe its ok to ignore the TSB (what does it stand for?). What do you think?

Technical Service Bulletin. I too live in Makati area, pero sa Alabang ako nagpapaservice. Iba ang level ng professionalism nila doon. They took my car for a test drive after the TSBs and modification to repair the smell. They left the receipt for the GAS filled up for me to see. They aim to please. Kaya lang matagal ang releasing gawa ng car wash. If you're not in a rush to pick up the unit, then head on out to Yukoshen. Sarap ng ramen nila =)

I was back in Alabang kanina but this time to buy spark plug for my escape. I got hold of the service supervisor who worked on my explo. Told him meron pa nga pagtumagal ang babad above 3K rpm. They do recognize naman na hindi nga totally natatangal yung smell. Sabi ko, next time mag PMS ako sa kanila,
palalagyan ko ng filter yung window na may dumper. aThis window according to the TSB is the one they try to seal & tighten. There are 1 window on each side under the bumper, the purpose of which is for air release when closing the doors, basically pressure release window ito. In this window, pumapasok yung amoy as it's also at the back near the exhaust pipe, so pag nagbackdraft yung air as the car accelerate (masmalakas ang burn ng gas, so mas malakas ang labas ng fumes) it returns and passes through the windows on the side.

Kung totally i-seal yung window, mahirapan naman daw isara yung door as walang lalabasan ng pressure.

That's how they explained the fume thing on our explo.

    +1

Price diff between the 2.0 and the 3.5 is now 300k. 2.0 limited have almost everything the 3.5 has except for the BLIS and rear DVD. Is the power of the 2.0 sufficient enough for city and occasional out of town driving? Out of town trips are mainly Tagaytay or a bit further south and up north to Baguio. No plan of going off road. The 2.0 has more torque though making it more efficient for overtaking vs the 3.5 NA. A friend told me that the 2.0's torque is also more efficient in climbing the zigzag roads of Baguio vs the 3.5. But I also read somewhere that the 2.0's lack power especially when fully loaded with passengers and baggage. Am I missing something?

Lack of power maybe for Americans... compared to anything else in this price range, the Ecoboost really doesn't lack for power at all. Fuel consumption is better, but not quite sure if that's due to the Ecoboost or the deletion of the AWD system. Maybe a bit of both.

    -

Test driving the Ecoboost Limited now. All I can say is... NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIICE.

    -

Having the larger wheels from the Limited trim makes it ride and handle better, and quells torque steer. The transmission and engine feel more refined than last year's model... probably a powertrain programming upgrade, and MyFordTouch is getting better and better. This current build is just as good as some of the better touch-screen systems.

And the toys... my God... the toys...

    Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
