December 10th, 2012 07:29 PM #1802What’s hot: Bigger, stronger, quieter, car-like refinement with big ute payload
What’s not: Wheel that only adjusts for rake (not reach), more expensive than HiLux
X-Factor: Looks tough, is tough; but it’s not only tradies who are gonna love this truck
Price: $55,390 (XLT auto), $43,890 (XL manual)
Fuel Consumption (claimed): 9.2 l/100km (auto)
Fuel consumption (on test): 9.9 l/100km (auto)

December 10th, 2012 11:07 PM #1804I just happen to know..
Well to continue my experience with our new ranger, Had my first PMS last Dec 6. Informed the casa all of my concerns and waited for about an hour. Resolved most of my concerns except for the two major "problem":
1. I mentioned this on the previous pages which is the weird sound underneath the car whenever the auto tranny is in shifting transition from 2nd gear to 3rd gear.
--we did a test drive together with the SA and a technical staff. The technician was the one driving. UNFORTUNATELY THE SYMPTOM DIDN'T SHOW UP. As what i mentioned previously here i also relayed to them that the sound doesn't happen all the time, but it still happens 3 to 4 times everyday.
--both the technician and the SA advised me to do more observation and for them to be able to do a more thorough check, they told me to make arrangements with the management na kung pwede iwan ko daw ang unit for at least overnight.. I told them pag-isipan ko muna coz i live 90 kms away from the casa.
--according to them, this is the first report they encountered on this specific "problem". Many of the units that had been released are manual trannies..
-- i still experience the sound everyday especially if the vehicle came from a long rest. IF THE SOUND IS JUST PART OF THE NORMAL OPERATION OF THE VEHICLE, WHY DOESN'T HAPPEN ALL THE TIME?
2. The low fuel level warning lamp, the fuel gauge, and the "distance to empty" information DOES NOT UPDATE IMMEDIATELY after i refill at the gas station ESPECIALLY IF THE ENGINE REMAINS ON and RUNNING. Sometimes it takes more than an hour and sometimes ayaw talaga mag update and you need to turn off the engine, wait for about a minute, and turn back on bago mawala yung low fuel warning at aakyat yung fuel needle gauge.
--Ford SA told me they performed a kind of diagnostic test or simply they ran their laptop on the vehicle's onboard computer and found no problem. Based on their experience kuno, pinakamatagal mag update ng fuel level ang ford focus or escape yata yun which is around 5 mins daw.
--They advised me of further observation and inform them of any changes..
Ok so tumawag ang Customer Care nila kanina for feedback sa PMS. I told her the weird sound is still there. And the fuel indicators failing to update IS GETTING WORSE.
--My sister used the car last Saturday Dec 8th at naabutan sya sa first warning ng low fuel (80 kms to empty). Diretso sya sa Shell Station and refilled 500 pesos (*Php44.90 so it's around 11.13 liters). Enough na sana to at least mkaakyat man lang ang fuel needle gauge kahit konti or the distance to empty would improve to around "180kms to empty." UNFORTUNATELY WALANG NAGYARI. Patuloy ang warning sound, warning lamp, and the fuel needle is nearing the red line. Same day and an hour after, hiniram ng brother ko at walang update pa rin sa fuel. Sunday came and they attend church service, the annoying fuel warning sound is there.. the distance to empty keeps on reducing.. Today Dec 10th is the third day na and i'm the one using the car the whole day. I ignored the fuel warning, i want to test what will really happen kasi impossible naman na walang lumabas na diesel sa fuel pumps ng shell last saturday? Kanina lunch time umabot na sa "50kms to empty". My mom is now starting to suspect baka hindi talaga nalagyan ng crudo nakaligtaan lang or may hokus pokus sa station. Kanina after work i was about to give up and thought of just going to the gas station and refill. While getting the ledgers sa tindahan namin, lo and behold! BIGLANG NAG OFF ANG LOW FUEL WARNING LAMP, UMAKYAT ANG FUEL NEEDLE GAUGE, AND THE DISTANCE TO EMPTY WENT UP TO "118kms TO EMPTY"! NAG UPDATE SYA AFTER 3 DAYS!
Is this normal?

Morning Y'all! I would like to ask your opinion... I'm actually waiting for the FORD RANGER 4x2 AT to normalize marami daw kasi nasa waiting list pa. My bank called me that approve na application ko for Auto Loan but hindi pa ako pumunta doon for any updates. Meron bang expiry after the time na approve yong auto loan ko though hindi pa ako mubalik sa bank ko? Na approve xa last December 7, 2012. I'm planning to go there by January 2013 pa considering na, Im planning to avail it early March 2013 pa. The bank already knows my plan. Also, I still have to get the important papers from the bank and have to send it to my partner abroad as my co-maker. So I am not rushing. Ito yong quotation nila:
REGULAR LOAN - 36 months
SRP: 1,1159.000.00
DP 20%: 231,800.00
Monthly Amortization: 30,853.00 (19.79%)
ALL-IN FINANCING - 36 months
SRP: 1,1159.000.00
DP 20%: 231,800.00
Monthly Amortization: 33,521.00 (30.15%)
They will lower it pa daw if na finalize na yong decision ko. Right now, Im planning to avail the regular loan. Then pay the Chattel Mortgage & the Premuim Insurance. Do you have any idea or estimate how much is the Chattel Mortgage & the Premium Insurance on the bank? Or if ever, I will avail the All-in Financing, ok ba yong rate na binigay nila sa akin? Basta Im planning to haggle pa later if naka pag decide na ako what to choose... Please give me inputs... Hope to hear positive response from you. THANK YOU!

December 11th, 2012 01:17 PM #1810AFAIK, when I saw the credit advise from my bank to the dealer, yes they have expiry date.
Chattel and mortgage is between 20 to 25 thousand. Some banks even lower than 20K. Premium insurance may range from 30 to 40k.
Better thru bank financing as their rate are always lower than in house.
The hybrid release was also basically an all-new model release for TMPI, I think.
