There are two 1.6 Ti-VCT engines in europe for the Mk3 Focus, a 105PS and 125PS version.
The one in the Australian spec model will most likely be 125PS version. (I think this could also be the base engine for the ASEAN Mk3 Focus)
Thats 20PS more than the Mazda 3's current 105PS 1.6 engine and is equal to the outgoing Mk2 Focus' 1.8 engine.
Need more power? If we won't get the 150PS 1.6 EcoBoost, we'll probably get the 160hp (162PS) 2.0 DI Ti-VCT engine.

For me the 2.0 Ti-VCT the same one in the US is the best pick in the range... I am sure in terms of fuel economy mated with the 6 speed DCT highway mileage is going to be good. Now the question is the city driving...

More Doug commercials... I really like how they integrate this wacko dynamic duo and at the same time marketing the car... BRILLIANT! Makes the other car commercials really bland and boring...

Very good 24 hours for the new Ford Focus in the SAFETY front... Ford Focus achieves IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK as well as Euro NCAP 5 star rating (highest)!
On Thursday, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety released crash-test results for 13 small cars. Six earned top scores, bringing the total number of small cars named top safety picks by the institute to 22.
The I.I.H.S., which is funded by the insurance industry, also released a list of the 10 small cars that claim top crash-test scores as well as the highest fuel economy ratings in their class.
The six top safety picks consist of 2011 and 2012 models. They are the 2012 Ford Focus and the Honda Civic four-door, as well as the 2011 Hyundai Elantra, the Lexus CT 200h, the Nissan Juke and Toyota Prius.

Ford Motor Company is investing $100 million globally to install robotic plant laser inspection technology to improve quality through reduced wind noise and more refined fit and finish. This new technology is being used during assembly of the popular new 2012 Ford Focus at the Michigan Assembly and Saarlouis, Germany plants, and the hot-selling Explorer at the Chicago Assembly Plant. The technology then will be rolled out globally as part of Ford's next phase of its quality initiative to lead the industry in customer satisfaction.Last edited by AG4; June 3rd, 2011 at 04:12 AM.
