There have been photos of the used and cut-opened Fleetguard LF3830, Bosch and the Baldwin BD28 posted several pages back. Comparing these to those pictures that were posted earlier, I noticed that the quality of the OEM oil filter looks better than the Fleetguard and Bosch counterparts. The Balwin BD28 looks well-built though and I am sure it has a better filtration compared to the OEM filter. I really doubt the filtration efficiency of the Fleetguard LF3830 being sold locally which looks to have even lesser number of pleats than the OEM filter.
    here is the bosch filter...

oem filter good for 10,000 kms.

FS nang zic is pure PAO... both for diesels and gasoline fed engines...
sa top 1 FS i dont know kung pure PAO sila o group III....
mas mahal ang FS nang ZIC compared to FS nang top 1....

Thanks sir. I was reading an article about synthetic oil and it mentioned one of the following disadvantages:

Potential stress cracking of plastic components made of polyoxymethylene (POM) in the presence of polyalphaolefin (PAO).

Maybe a quick question but long discussion:

I was browsing some downloaded files re:oil analysis. i've seen a pattern that the additive elements (Z,P,Ca,Mg,B) increase with use. what's the reason? nadiscuss ba ito lately sa previous posts? or maybe i was absent when this was taught on my chem classes.hehehe

sir miked, those additives you mentioned DECREASE as you use the oil because it gets depleted... as the oil is performing its functions those elements which primarily is the detergent/ dispersant component of the oil is surely but slowly decreasing, kaya as time goes by, the TBN becomes low which indicates it time to change the oil....

what might increase in oil analysis is the acid number/ the metal elements like copper/iron/aluminum/ tin... (if there is wear/ normally these metals are very minimal)
