There's lots of good oils out there, many most don't even know about and the API rating plays a bigger part then the brand of oil. Unfortunately US oil provides far less protection than the oils you can get in the Philippines. Because the over the counter oil here has to go by the latest API standard which frankly suck. Some of these literately have have the the Zinc and Phos they had just 4 years ago.

Our SN rated oils are strait garbage, most don't make up the loss of the Zn and Phos with moly or boron so your getting far less protection for your engine then you did just 4 years ago.

Those are all good oils, but there are good cheap oils too, Like ZIC synthetic is a good solid Group III oil, SK industries who makes ZIC is one of the largest producers of Group III base oils and is a major importer of Group III into the US so it's good stuff and what's in many of of our oils. But in the Philippines your not stuck with SN rated oil for the most part over the counter unless you get diesel oil.

Motul is great oil but very expensive because it's group V oil. But like I said the API rating is more important than the brand of oil for the most part.
