dOC, i have many zic oils here... im retailing the ZIC products, like the zic A, zic up, zic Rv... i didn't know they were that good... i have boxes of them here, but nobody seems to like it if you sell ZIC in the market areas of forums here... seems many people are still not aware of the specifications of oils...

you're definitely right on DOc, most of the latest oils here have decreased their phosphorus and zinc additive count to meet API SN but did not formulate to increase the moly, what we end up is an oil who will favor the "catalytic converters life and emissions" but lack protection for the engine...
which will then make then engine emit more pollutants because there's no protection in the end...

50% of the worlds group III base oils comes from yubase, which is Sk lubricants of korea and also produces ZIC lubricants..

Glad to discover this thread, it really opened my eyes.

Our small company uses a fleet of L300s similar to the one shown below. 2011 model 4D56 EuroII. Mileage covered annually is 1x,xxx kms.

I plan to use Baldwin BD28 (we currently use VIC) on its next oil change. Also DVLDOC mentions this BD28 filter can easily last 10,000 kms. Now what oil should I use with the BD28 (so after 10,000 kms both oil and oil filter can be replaced simultaneously)?

Some candidates (as per this thread)

    Top1 Synthetic Diesel Oil - Php 260-290/lit
    Caltex Delo 400 15w40

Thank you for all inputs and to dvldoc for introducing this topic!

I would go with Delo as the cost is low, the TBN is high and the additive package is stronger. It's meant for fleet service. I would change the oil and filter out at the same time. I would also start with the 2T oil in the fuel it will reduce maintenance cost and allow you to run your oil longer because it helps your burn excess diesel.

Now this is how you save your company a bunch of money, Run the oil 12000klm and send of a sample of the oil for testing at one of the labs I posted and make sure you get a TBN. This will tell you just how long you can run this oil and filter with no guess work. Oil test is less than 1000P for most places and can save you 10000's of dollars in oil change cost. Top1 will also easily go that same distance with these filters since it's group III oil.

There is no reason Delo can not go to 12000klm that's actually a low estimate on that oil. Remember the reason to use Baldwin or Fleetguard filters is to extend oil life and reduce cost. 150000kml is not a unreasonable oil change interval on that engine with a Baldwin since it holds about 4 times more dirt than a standard over the counter filter and it filters down to 12 microns * 50%.

Please sir, keep up updated. It's good to know people can start saving some money with all the input from members on this forum.

I emailed Volmax and Pacer and ask them to update there stocks so people can have easier access to good filters. I gave them my main list of the most common filters. And Let Pacer know that the fake fleetguards are still around. I'm pretty sure they know by now I will call out any none original filters now and they would loose Tsikot members as future customers.

Volmax on the other hand just needs to expand into the normal car market vs just commercial vehicles and fleet vehicles and generators and get were the money is. Who's going to buy a VIC when they can get a Baldwin for cheaper.

Pretty much have 90% of vehicles covered in the list I sent.

Delo Diesel Engine Lubricating Oil - Delo 400, Gold, Silver & Sports - Caltex Philippines

Here in the Philippines, Delo 400 multigrade seem to be the highest grade available. If I'm not mistaken, its better than Gold Ultra.
    ==============================

Anyone used Castrol Magnatec 10w-40 for petrol? Currently using the Honda branded Idemitsu 10W-30 mineral from the dealers at 180/liter. This thread has convinced me to use 10W-40 instead of the usual 10W-30, bec. of the unusual heat in our weather now.

Mukhang wala nga sa local dealers and shop yang Delo 400 ah. And higher specs nga siya than Delo Gold Ultra.
