here is the link for its complete description: MJ-212. MITASU ULTRA DIESEL CI-4 5W-4 1% Synthetic - MITASU OIL CORPORATION, JAPAN

The manual for my vehicle (Fortuner) recommends 5W30 Fully Synthetic with the following Oil Grade: API CF-4, CF or ACEA B1

On the other hand, the MITASU is 5W40 Fully Synthetic with the following Oil Grade: API CI-4/CH-4/СG-4/CF ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4, E7

Should I go for the MITASU?

Mararamdaman nyo ba agad agad yung difference if you use a fully synthetic oil vs just a mineral oil? Or would it be the long term effect?

if you read posts on bobistheoilguy forums.. many use mineral oils like the PYB, this is the shell helix hx5. and they've done over 200,000mi with them.

truth is all you need is to follow your cars recommendation, time based oil change interval because of our traffic. you can follow distance based based oil change intervals if you're in other parts of the world lol.

Sir, *dvldoc, I know this is an old post but after reading it and comparing it with the specs of TOTAL RUBIA TIR 7400 15W-40, I wonder if this Total multi-grade mineral oil is as good as the Caltex Delo gold ultra oil as you have described above:

Here are the technical specs of the Total oil for diesel engines:

    API CI-4/CH-4/SL
    ACEA E7

Is the Total RUBIA TIR 7400 15W-40 a good mineral oil for my Fortuner Dsl 2016?

There's a huge difference between synthetic oil and mineral oil. In terms of the performance of the car, its highly recommendable to use synthetic oil as it has high resistance power, can withstand high temperature and most importantly it provides high performance. Despite its cost, synthetic oil lasts longer which avoids constant oil change. However, you can visit your trusted car shop to ask for better recommendation and know its risk that might ruin the car over the years. Hope this helps!

One of the claims of manufacturers is that using Fully Synthetic Oil improves fuel economy.... But after some readings in the net it appears that it is a myth. So the benefit of using Fully Synthetic Oil is more on the duration of the use of such oil in the engine such as 10,000 km vs the mineral oil which has a life of not more than 5,000 km. My concern now is the viscosity of the oil. The manual recommends a 5W 30 viscosity, but that if for fully synthetic oils which costs around 3 times (around 5k pesos) than a mineral oil which cost 1.5k. The mineral oil is at 15W 40 (pasok naman sa manual as minimum).... Some say that since we do not have winter in the Philippines so the first number does not really matter. It is the second number which is crucial. I have read that 40 is too thick as an oil and might have some issues in the long run.... Is this true?

If the manual recommends a w30 then follow it by all means lalo na if brand new vehicle. Mas maliit pa tolerances niyan compared sa previous engines nga gawang 90's eh so magbenefit talaga engine sa lower viscosity dahil mas magaan i-circulate ng engine.

But if you say that the w40 is also in the manual, then pwede din yan of course. Lalo na if diesel engine. Kayang-kaya niya yan.

Mineral , semi synthetic or fully synthetic?
