January 15th, 2019 03:02 PM #5711Merong malapit sa amin na Total Lubricants which offers low priced engine oils since they have some oils in drums which may be sold per liter. I intend to have a change oil soon for my 2016 Fortuner Diesel. Sa manual ang recommended viscosity is 5W30, which is fully synthetic. Now, they are offering me in Total Lubricants the mineral oil with 15W40 viscosity which costs only P190/liter but I have to do change oil every 5,000km as well as change the oil filter. Since I really intend to have my PMS every 5,000km and not the 10k for the fully synthetic which casa recommends, I am inclined to use the mineral oil with 15W40 viscosity from Total which costs only 190/L.
Here is what Total offers me: RUBIA TIR 7400 15W40 with the following specs:
MINERAL OIL
High Performance Diesel Engine Oil
Suitable for modern engines including those with exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) system
Adapted to the most severe driving conditions
Provides excellent viscosity stability and effective engine protection
Provides effective control of soot, sludge and piston deposits
SPECIFICATIONS
API CI-4/CH-4/SL
ACEA E7
Here is the link: Rubia TIR 74 15W4 v | Total in the Philippines.
Should I go for this?

This is what I am using right now - the MAG 1 5W30 Fully Synthetic.
I think Grp. III based lang ito kasi meron pa silang European Formula naman which is mas mahal. It still falls though in the fully synthetic category as defined sa US standard. Can't really say how good (or bad) this oil is since wala din naman akong naging issue dun sa dati kong ginagamit na Ardeca FS 5w30. No difference I could feel with the MAG 1 this time.

The E7 is spec'd for diesel engines w/o DPF. Total Mineral you mentioned is also heavier than the recommended viscosity. Your FC will likely take a hit. Try to look for an option that satisfies what the manual states...though the specs like CF4 & B1 may have already been superseded by newer API & ACEA sequences, respectively. 5w-30 is more common here as Full Synthetic than mineral.

Any info about Gulf Formula G SAE 5w40 FS API SN? Was forced to use this as it was the only available oil at the suking talyer. Pretty expensive at 1,900/4liters. The synthetic blend was only rated SL so could not use that. Toyota synthetic blend of the same values was 1,600/4 liters.

January 16th, 2019 08:34 PM #5719Has anyone used MITASU ULTRA DIESEL CI-4 5W-40 100% Synthetic? I saw it at Blade for P1899.00 per 4 liters. Is this a good synthetic oil?
here is the link for its complete description: MJ-212. MITASU ULTRA DIESEL CI-4 5W-4 1 % Synthetic - MITASU OIL CORPORATION, JAPAN
The manual for my vehicle (Fortuner) recommends 5W30 Fully Synthetic with the following Oil Grade: API CF-4, CF or ACEA B1
On the other hand, the MITASU is 5W40 Fully Synthetic with the following Oil Grade: API CI-4/CH-4/СG-4/CF ACEA A3/B3, A3/B4, E7
Should I go for the MITASU?

Kung walang spare tire, invest on a Inflator kaysa sa sealant. Inflate the flat tire +10 psi than...
Liquid tire sealant
