Im a Grab Driver and after I drop the passenger off I am turning off the engine to save fuel consumption, after 5-10 minutes I will start it again. Is this ok? Am I shortening any parts of my car? Please help, I will appreciate it very much.

ok lang yan. some newer cars even have auto start stop systems. automatically kills engine when idling

starter is an electric motor and is usually very reliable

what's bad are repeated short trips. like starting cold then driving 1km. then rest 1hr. starting cold again. rinse repeat

Doc, in my experience with Motolite Gold , patama talaga ang life nya sa warranty na 21 months, minsan lang ako naka tyempo ng more than 2 years and malas na na trade in ko pa for a new one due to mis diagnosis of faulty alarm module.

    1. Battery
    2. Starter motor carbon brush, solenoid contacts and starter pinion gear. Yung carbon brush madali lang palitan. Most starter solenoids are now sealed type so palit yan buo. Also the pinion pag nabungi or worn out palit na agad at baka kasi madamay ang flywheel gear.
