September 15th, 2018 01:31 AM #83i used to turn off my engine during long-ish waits.
i figured, if 30 seconds or more waiting, i turn it off.
so far, after 13 years and over 124K km, ok naman engine.
but i had to replace my battery more than twice as often as my other car's, whose driver did not turn off the engine during long-ish waits as i did.

I usually turn off my engine during stoplights more than 2 minutes. Tiis tiis lang sa walang aircon :D

When I visited Japan, most ng cars dun hybrid and naka idle stop/start system.
Kapag sa stoplight, madidinig mo halos lahat mag start kapag go na sila hehe.
Kaya okay dun kahit sa city sarap huminga.

September 25th, 2018 04:22 PM #89Yung matindi kasi mag pollute dito (ironically) is yung mga PUV - jeep, bus & tricycle na dapat mas makababa ng pollution. Mass transport moves people & goods more efficiently than a single driver vehicle.
===
Then on the other hand, lahat ng bulok nilang sasakyan, tinatapon dito sa `Pinas. Halos lahat ng bus & light truck, Japan surplus- kita pa nga minsan yung lumang markings ng dating Japanese na company that owned them. Kundi yung buong sasakyan, makina naman (ex. C-240 engine sa jeepney)
IIRC they're with AVID. The reported numbers in the TG article are from CAMPI.
