hi guys, any optra owners here? i'll be getting my optra on wednesday, any feedbacks on its over-all performance? i just sold my '00 model gsr for this, hope i made the right desicion.

Why did you choose Optra over other brands/models?

I have an officemate who got her Optra 1.8 LT A/T 2 or 3 weeks ago and she's satisfied with the over-all performance. I will try to refer this site to her.

if i were you cancel the order na lang. its not that reliable. i'd rather get the lowest mazda3 variant

Dude, honestly the odds are against your car because of the following reasons:
- poor fuel economy
- complaints by owners on service of GM Autoworld (i've experienced them firsthand as well... ).
- poor resale value in the future

I havent driven one so i cant comment on the performance and reliability side yet. But my ride on one from Legazpi City to Sorsogon showed that it is a comfy car (well it was almost new).

We have an optra. Got it last year ata... hindi ko na alam basta medyo kaka release pa lang ng optra nun kinuha namin. What we have is a gold 1.6 M/T.
Me, carlo, mbt and mazdamazda tested how the car handles and the overall feel of the car. You may ask them what they think about this car.
Here's my take. Sa ownership, I really can't say since it's my dad and the drivers who handle the bringing of the car to the dealership... sorry can't help here
Sa performance, yun 1.6 namin para sakin medyo bitin sa power(add the fact na my car is a galant 7g m/t V6) pero since galing ka naman sa lancer I think hindi ka masiyado mabibitin. If you got the manual, say goodbye to fun na! Napakapanget ng shift feel ng manual version. Hindi smooth ang pag pasok sa gear and sobrang rubbery ng feel... Sa steering para sakin tama lang naman. Not too light, not too heavy din. My top speed sa car na to was 160kph medyo maingay na engine. Another note, ewan ko ah pero yung optra namin ang panget ng engine sound and hindi siya smooth... Ang sabog ng tunog niya...and parang may tope! maarte ata to sa gas
As for the other things, hmm.... space! This is one of the best asset of the optra! I really love the space inside! Maluwag sa front and back and yun trunk niya ok na rin sa space.
Brakes naman... Medyo sabog ako magdrive paminsan lalo na pag lampas na ko sa curfew(galit na si mommy, hahaha) parang ang bilis niya magfade and hindi ko type yung feel ng brake... Di siya swabe pero I think this will suffice na in normal daily driving... sa parts replaced, ang alam ko lang napalitan is the fuel pump and the battery and siyempre free naman mga yun so no hassle. Ok yun fact na yun won't have to pay for anything in the first 2 ba o 3 years? basta yun na yun.
Stereo is ok. Sounds good for a stock system and ok yung 5 in-dash cd niya. Very Convenient.
As of now 9700+ pa lang ata natakbo ng samin. City driving lang kasi ito eh. Pang service lang kaya medyo mababa ang takbo.

thanks guys! i'll be getting the 1.8 AT, na-attract kasi ako sa dami ng freebies and value for money e. anyways, il keep you guys posted on how my new baby is doing. please keep on posting if you have new feedbacks regarding this car, para i'll know na rin what to expect in the near future.

You are welcome. I think the 1.8 AT is better than the 1.6. Better P/W ratio so baka mas matipid o same lang consumption sa 1.6. Sabi ni carlo kasi he was able to test the 1.8 version ok talaga yun 1.8 compared sa 1.6 iba daw.
Dami nga freebies and value for money talaga kaya parang ok. Wish you luck na lang and sana you will have a good experience with that car.

Tignan mo mabuti yung mga tires,rims baka may gasgas or yupi dahil nung nakuha namin yung optra namin may yupi ang isang rim niya at tuklap ang tire.
Yung optra namin after 5,500 nung pauwi na dad ko parang namamatay matay siya samantalang kailan lang ay pinatune up namin yung optra namin
Napundi na kaagad ang maliit na bulb sa headlight samantalang minsan lang namin gamitin ang optra
Yung sa radiator hose parang may kulay kalawang
Oks lang talaga sa optra ay yung Blaupunkt na stereo at yung mga speakers niya at yung space
Feel ko marami pang mangyayari sa optra namin.kaya abangan..hehe..
Pero bebenta na rin namin ang optra namin dahil bibili kami ng Kia Picanto at Civic hatchback..

Hey guys, I dont know if you knew this...the Chevy Optra is a rebadged Daewoo car(made in Korea ito!). Daewoo Car Co. was bought by GM when it had financial difficulties a few years back. So if you happen to own those old Daewoo cars (yun ginawang taxi) then this new models came from the same factory!
