wac3, your friends are already lucky they got to enjoy 1 year of owning a optra defect free, since the day i got my optra, i am already having trouble with it
no matter how good the car is, if the dealer is not exclusiver brand, mahirap. In this case, the dealer carries both chevy and subaru, and I think another brand. Lahat na multi brand dealership, either di tumatagal ang dealership, o after some years, they will drop some brands and start carrying others.
i havnt' tried driving this car so i cannot judge its performance. well all i can say is that its a value for money in terms of equipment. I like the blaupunkt stereo.
May optra kami comment
-mahina hatak niya
-may kulay rust sa radiator hose
-nagtiwala kami masyado sa kanila ayun may defect ang rim namin at tires AYAW na nilang palitan Insurance na lang daw
-oks lang ang stereo..heheh..
i drive an optra A/T. all i can say is its an ok car unless your looking for one that has good fuel economy. sobra takaw sa gas, mas matipid pa yung 2003 CRV. mahina hatak ng optra kaya kailangan mo tapakan pero pag tinapakan mo naman lakas kumain ng gasolina. yung lang nakaiinis. Ok naman yung suspension, aircon, stereo, etc. good value for money pero duda ako sa resale vaule at sa dismal gasoline consumption.
Originally posted by puti this help your decision making re the optra. first, optra is not a re-badge vehicle by chevy...
anyway optra is a truly world class sedan manufactured by GM, italian designed, british tuned, german engineered car.
Yeah right.
Not rebadged??? hello ano ba orig nito? chevy ba?
World class??? if you say that its world class it SHOULD BE equal or better when compared to cars in its class. (is it ?)
Bilib na bilib ka yata sa GM, ano bang tsikot nila ang masasabing oks na oks e lahat ng Chevy na tsikot as in kotse (except SUV's) e patapon sa US, binebenta ng sobrang mura puro rebates 0% interest for 5 yrs at 0% interest on your NEXT GM vehicle purchase e nilalangaw pa rin.
Tell that to the marines, Mr Car Sales Man.
A good read for you go to Edmunds.com and search for the article
confessions of a car sales man. <---- sakto ka.
Actually I like the design of the optra, the downside lang is the gas consumption. Lakas daw talaga sa gas. The 1.6 is around 7-9 kil per liter yung 1.8 nasa 6-8 naman. Bakit kaya ganun? Sayang yung 1.6 nasa 599k na lang ngayon brand new. Good deal kaso lang sa gas talo
I have had our Optra for around 1 1/2 years na yet there doesnt seem to be any major problem that i have found. Its a good car for its price but i will be warning you on its bad fuel economy. i am still getting around 7-8km/L but thats with economical driving. Regular driving will bring it down further, mainly because its an underpowered car. You need that much Revs and gas to push it the way you want it.
> tranny has a rubbery feel. hard to discern the gears at first but you'll get used to it.
> lotus-tuned suspension? hahaha... what a laugh we had when we ran it around a rotonda at the fort. when I had my turn, I could feel the front & rear wheels are starting to slip at only 40kph on a moderate curve. loads of understeer if driven hard.
chevy optra is a fully-loaded machine, in-dash disc changer, fog lamps, abs, airbags, 1.8L etc. and all this for 700k or less. They give discounts too pa.
but to me, it's like buying a fully-featured promac stereo home sound system. andun na lahat wala ka na hahanapin, d katulad ng mga more popular brands like kenwood, sony na iba iba presyo habang nadadagdagan ang features.
but I'll never buy one. would still stick to the top 4 japanese car brands just like the japanese stereo brands.
