Kahit rebadged daewoo or suzuki lang ito and galing sa same factory sa korea, hindi ibig sabihin na wala itong improvement sa previous na mga daewoo. This car was developed with GM so maybe may improvement naman kahit papano. Walang mangyayari kung iisipin natin na dahil dati panget yun product ng company na ito dati ay panget na rin ngayon. Yung optra namin more than a year na wala naman major problems. And to think I trash that car everytime I drive it. Yun sa headlights na nagturn dull siguro malas malas na lang yan. La pa naman akong nakita na unit na may ganyan.
We also own a Venture, totoo nga na this piece of **** car is made from tofu but that car did not give us any problems din naman. It's just that the whole interior rattles everytime we hit a bump.

I'm just clearing up the lineage of the vehicle. I have nothing against Korean vehicles. I even used to drive one and we are having a hard time letting go of our Korean van because nothing seems like a worthy replacement.

Tama ka din naman. Dami kasing tao na may misconception about Kimchi cars. Sa akin naman, the Optra is ok but don't set your standards too high.

The freebies you got is offset by the low resale value the car is gonna get once you try to sell it. i have seen a 1.6 optra being sold below 500k and thats still with the PMS (periodic maintiance service). I actually drive a 1.6L A/T optra for almost 1 1/2 years na, besides its dismal fuel economy, its not a bad car. Minimal problems like CD has errors, a few squeeks thats tolerable and malapit na matapos yung kanyang PMS in a couple of months which makes me worried about its resale value and the price of its spare parts. All Optras u see in the road right now are still under PMS, so we dont know how much the price of repair, maintainance and spare parts is. I hope its priced similar to jap cars and not similar to euro or american cars. personally i would have gotten the Mazda3 if only it was available when i got my optra.

i got my 1.8LT model optra last wednesday. i drove it from tanauan city to dagupan city for the break-in. aircon is good, sound system is excellent, very spacious, comfortable ride. full tank of gas is just enough to bring me back home. with econo-driving (doesn't exceed 3000prm, ave. 120kph) it consumed 10.92kilometers per liter. not bad. well... so far so good, il keep you guys informed. btw, its abs works! thank goodness!

Chevy Cassias are no longer available. The Optra was its replacement.

we must admit that though there are some issues concerning the chevy products (particularly, optra), it also has its good points. to the risk taker, rather bold, the car of choice (optra) wasn't so bad. and personally, i hear some very good reviews with regards to the optra.

My brief experience with the Optra (1.8):

1.) too much brake dust, especially sa Front RH side, I've seen several units na marumi ang mags dahil sa brake dust.

2.) During my stint, napaos iyong isang horn.

3.) 4-5 km/l consumption kahit gano pa ako katipid mag-drive (mixed).
