December 14th, 2004 02:07 PM #81Guys, how about the 1.8? What's the fuel consumption? Kung malakas ang consumption ng 1.6, baka naman lumalaklak ng gasolina itong 1.8!

this help your decision making re the optra. first, optra is not a re-badge vehicle by chevy...
anyway optra is a truly world class sedan manufactured by GM, italian designed, british tuned, german engineered car.
Not rebadged??? hello ano ba orig nito? chevy ba?
World class??? if you say that its world class it SHOULD BE equal or better when compared to cars in its class. (is it ?)
Bilib na bilib ka yata sa GM, ano bang tsikot nila ang masasabing oks na oks e lahat ng Chevy na tsikot as in kotse (except SUV's) e patapon sa US, binebenta ng sobrang mura puro rebates 0% interest for 5 yrs at 0% interest on your NEXT GM vehicle purchase e nilalangaw pa rin.
Tell that to the marines, Mr Car Sales Man.
A good read for you go to Edmunds.com and search for the article
confessions of a car sales man. <---- sakto ka.

ang maganda sa optra is value for money.. biruin mo fully loaded na at disc brakes lahat.. very tempting to buy talaga...
but for me, i will not buy this car.. bagong labas pa lang eh dami na ako negative feedback na nabasa...

December 30th, 2004 04:37 PM #84hey Hotshots,
just like you had experienced fuel lock with my 11 mo.old OPTRA, branded as "TOPE." Got this thing when I downgraded my fuel from XCS to UNLEADED. After a lot of works done at JUNO CARS, SHAW such as:
1. change on spark plugs
2. fuel drain
3. battery replacement
I decided to bring it to where I bought it, GM Makati. Based from few cases, fuel lock was caused by the fuel we load to our car. Their advise was to upgrade the fuel being loaded to a higher octane. That was the solution they reco to optras having experience fuel lock. With 2-3 full tanks, hopefully the TOPE will vanish.
Regarding the unsatisfying fuel consumption, most likely, this is brought about by the fuel lock. Will keep you informed once I isolate my fuel lock concern.
cheers,
fox

May 1st, 2005 08:45 PM #88Actually I like the design of the optra, the downside lang is the gas consumption. Lakas daw talaga sa gas. The 1.6 is around 7-9 kil per liter yung 1.8 nasa 6-8 naman. Bakit kaya ganun? Sayang yung 1.6 nasa 599k na lang ngayon brand new. Good deal kaso lang sa gas talo

May 4th, 2005 05:36 PM #90I have had our Optra for around 1 1/2 years na yet there doesnt seem to be any major problem that i have found. Its a good car for its price but i will be warning you on its bad fuel economy. i am still getting around 7-8km/L but thats with economical driving. Regular driving will bring it down further, mainly because its an underpowered car. You need that much Revs and gas to push it the way you want it.
Planning to buy a second car. Help me choose. Honda accord has 71k mileage for ₱465,000 Nissan...
