Dapat nde mamatay yan dahil A/T, the computer would adjust the air/fuel to maintain revs. Baka iba cause ng problem like a clogged fuel filter...

what i know hindi namamatayan ang A/T.
Gearspeed, anong namatayan ako sa A/T Optra?
Well, i've heard some stories na biglang tinitirik ang Optra A/T, sinabi lang sakin ni mbt sakin yun.
Gusto ko yung itsura ng Chevrolet optra pero hindi ko alam kung okay ba ito? malakas ba sa gas ito? mabilis ba? high maintenance. My car now is mitsubishi GSR so sanay ako sa fast car.. please comment..
It has a non-variable valve timing engine, so its not as efficient as the newer VTEC's or VVTi's... its not that fast either, 110PS engine vs its 1225kg curb weight.Originally Posted by angelodepante
But for P724K(1.6 LS M/T), the Optra is known for its value for money, you get a lot of standard features compared to other car in the same price range...
Driver's airbag
ABS with EBD
4-wheel disc brakes
Five "3-point" seatbelts
5 in dash cd changer
6-speaker stereo system
Auxilliary power outlets
If you want fast or sporty... guess you have to wait fot the more expensive all-new Civic...

passed by a chevy display in SM, may black optra m/t for 599k, nabenta agad hehe palakpakan pa mga chevy agents
diba takaw gas ito? parang maganda ung wagon-type nila...plus GM-phils notorius after-sales service ba? sabi nila, marami kang magiging regular na kaibigan dun..
The Optra is comfortable, not top of its class for anything, but with good noise insulation and space.
The 1.6 AT is a definite gas guzzler, the 1.8, not so, as the engine's power is ideally matched to the transmission and the weight of the car.
GM's service is reputedly poor, but you'll have to wait to hear from Optra owners about it. Quite a few are satisfied, as the Optra carries a free service period much much longer than other automakers.
The main problems of the Optra are the fuel mileage of the 1.6 automatic (5-6? Some guys I've talked to get 4 km/l in traffic), a poorly designed intake tube (it's too low in the engine bay, near or below headlight level, thus vulnerable to floodwater) and the "maintenance free" battery that actually needs you to fill it with water from time to time.
I don't know if GM has addressed the battery problem, but they did say they've addressed the fuel consumption problem of the 1.6. I guess we'll have to wait to hear from the 1.6 Wagon owners about it before passing judgement.
Ang pagbalik ng comeback...
i like the wagon.. best rear seats in the 1.6l class.. kaso ewan natin ang performance and reliability.. but at that price level the tucson is not too far away.
Hindi ko alam ito ah..Tell me more about this?..Originally Posted by niky

We have already a very similar thread on this.. one quote from our member here in tsikot, has even compare this buying an Optra, to a Home theather system.. one brand is "Promac" HT with all the functions you need in a very low price versus "Pioneer or Sony" brand na basic ang functions at much higher price... Nakamura ka nga sa Promac,, tunog "lata" naman... maybe ganito rin ang explanation once you bought an Optra.....try mong e search dito,, and you will find more revelation about this Car.....
Sabi sabi lang galing sa GM. Kaya nga, let's wait for local road-tests to find out if it's a promise kept or just a warm breeze from the PR department...Originally Posted by gearspeed

Nothing like that at all...Originally Posted by Revovx200
Overall the Optra is still a good car... of course Toyota and Honda biased fanatics judge it even before they test it.

It was in their press release, they did this to compensate for the added weight of the station wagon.Originally Posted by gearspeed
my personal experience with this car is not so pleasant. during the 10k km check-up, my car had a cel problem but gm alabang does not have the diagnostic equipment for this problem. so off it went to gm makati, and after 3 days and numerous calls they are still unable to find the cause. their service personnels are either incompetent or are doing guesswork when they did the diagnostics. sorry but i wouldn't recommend this car even it's dirt cheap.
Sorry for the bad experience you had with your Optra.Originally Posted by Baldo
Others did not have that problem. could be a Lemon?
Honda can come up with dumb quality issues like falling gas tanks/ faulty steel bands holding the gas tank... and people still love them, Honda fans say they are just Lemons, Civic Lemon edition? since they made 12,480 of them! Its the power of the badge! :hihihi:
