1. where did you get that info? i own a 2.0 FWD diesel captiva and it doesn't feel under powered at all. i don't know what you would consider underpowered so it would be best that you should go for a test drive to see for yourself.

2. if you take a look at http://www.8cars.my/asianauto/fea2008.asp you'll see the captiva won an award for fuel efficiency. 7.7L/100km daw, i don't know what the km/L is though. my personal experience, one full tank lasted me about 3 weeks, city driving.

1. wala po, tinatanong ko lang po kung underpower sya since parang ang bigat ng body nya para sa 2.0 na makina - yes nakapag test drive na ako ng AWD na diesel back when dipa 7seater ang captiva.

2. yes, kaya ako intresado kase sa lahat ng SUV na below 2M ito na ata ang may pang premium brand na feature..yung full tank mo sir nakaka ilang kms ka? kase ako 62 kms ang balikan ko sa office e. yung 09 everest namin na 4x2 yung 20liters ko limang araw yun (5liters a day)

bro. 13+ km.per liter hindi 8..ok na un 7.61 liter every 100 km. sa desiel.

- after 1016km sa odo nag ave. 2.0 VCDI captiva ko ng 8.2/li. Ok na ba ito? Halos lahat e uphill driving, from Dasma to lipa then to lemery then up to Tagaytay. Bumper to bumper traffic sa Tagaytay, same sa Molino rd. Then Cavite to Nasugbo ang up again to Tagaytay to Cavite. Cavite to Shaw and back.

Underpowered? Yung cros.w..d alam ko mabagal. Umabot ako ng 120 sa STAR toll at normal pa engine run nya di umuugong. sinubukan ko lang habulin yung monty. Ganda rin ng ABS nya, nasubukan ko dun sa tumawid na aso sa Tagaytay, at sa motorsiklo sa Nasugbo.

2009 VCDi Captiva ay Php1.335 price, di ko lang alam kung nagbago sila ng price. Last info from chevy alabang ay Chevy traverse daw ang ilalabas nila ngayong 2010.

had mine rustproofed by Ziebart. medyo mahal pero worth it kasi pati mga singit ng doors abot ng rustproofing nila. It also has a warranty that they check and reapply rustproofing yearly. So far no problems with rust sa Captiva ko. Ang di lang nila rustproofed is the exhaust system kasi umiinit siya and it will just burn the chemical they use. Ang ginawa ko is pinabinaklas ko whole exhaust pipes hanggang muffler sa casa, sandpapered the whole unit then spray painted it with high heat spray paint like vht. painted it black though which I preferred. No rust na ngayon exhaust ko. dati may rust muffler kasi lagi dumadaan sa flood waters sa amin. Undercoating? parang di ko na gusto kasi kinakalawang underneath di mo pa nakikita unless pinukpok mo. This happened to my Starex lagi undercoat lang kalawang na pala.

Has anyone here experienced a strange sound from the engine while accelerating slowly, passing approximately 1700 - 2200 RPM? You can hear it sounding like shriiiiiiiink or shrooooonk. It is usually noticed in quiet roads pag daan ng tach sa RPM below 2000 pataas tapos mawawala, pag decelerate ka rin pag daan 2000 pababa maririnig din siya. It seems to be coming from a blow oof valve ng turbo if our turbo has. sa malasian forums they call it chicken sound and they had their turbos reprogrammed. nareprogram na akin before ng casa kaso di rin nawala. kailangan daw uli reprogram kaso sira computer nila sa dagupan. driving it for a long time na 40thou plus na mileage ko. yun lang meron lagi sound. might have it reprogrammed sa QC although wala naman daw problema sa turbo, di daw masisira yun.

when exactly do you hear that sound? going uphill acceleration ba o sa flat terrain acceleration? normally dapat sa uphill mo lang maririnig yun pag in low rpm...

flat or uphill dinig ko siya. sa sctex pag cruising ka and dumaan ng range na yan pag overtake mo dinig na siya and pag pag release din pedal.

hi guys i'm also a captiva owner and i tricked-out my ride and i would just like to share it with you guys.

some DIY...smoke headlight, taillight & turn signals,
blacked-out all the emblems and chrome parts,
MOMO accessories (shifter & pedals)
upgraded my whole car audio system (Alpine LCD HU, Focal speakers, Rockford amps, JL sub, Alpine sound processor)



I want to change my rims next =)

Hi

My jul08 crdi captiva has kalampag already in the cargo area. Sama ng tunog, think coming from both the left and right sides. Had it brought to GM libis but they couldnt find it until I rode in the back and noticed that it was coming from inside the plastic coverings. Will have it brought to libis again.

Im a bit dissapointed with this car. Just 6 months use and the whole left side mirror just swings back and forth parang duyan. buti na lang they replaced as it was under warranty. Kaya nga lang after a month, the mirror itself (not the housing na) fell off . Jeez, talk about quality.

Im happy though with the engines performance, I always hear my tire screech when accelerating to overtake. Lakas!
