This is a nice input for me. I am planning to test drive Captiva 4x2 Diesel this week and planning to get an SUV within the month. I am still confused which to get between Captiva and CRV. I cant wait for Mitsubishi's Crossover as they say, it will come by the end of the month.
I am just concerned with some of the bad reviews I saw in this thread. I hope those are isolated cases.
Buzwik,
Go and buy a Captiva.. its a good SUV, I have a 2 year old Captiva with 40,000 kms on the odo.. so far no problem..ang ganda pa shape nya...
sir jay88,
i just became a tsikot member a few minutes ago, for the purpose of finding out more about the captiva. i'm planing on buying one for almost the same reasons you did. it seems to me that the captiva is a great car but with poor aftersakes support. i even befriended a chevy aveo user just to get a feel on how the chevy dealership in carmona performs. i think i'll hold off my decision a bit and see how chevy dealers deals with this,
thanks so much, i hope you'll keep us posted
ok il try n post updates i wil have my 10k pms this nov. n just 2 kip updates i just change my horn this october because it was busted again this was my third or fourth horn i think for a 7 month old car so i decided to buy an aftermarket hella horn at banawe but to keep the warranty going and prevent other mechanics from tampering the car (medyo maselan kasi ako sa mga kumakalikot ng gamit ko n i also realize that wirings of the captiva are different from other cars that we have so the dealer had to splice the wiring to get the horn that i bought installed parang saksakan lang lhat plug and replace lang even the headlights but im not sure if all recent cars are already like that galing kasi ako sa civic and altis) so i decided to go to the dealer to get in installed they even charge me 500 pesos for it of course at first i argued with them that its not my fault that the horn always gets busted and i ask them how will they compensate the the trouble, time and gas that i have to spend just to get the horn replace.( mas gmit ko kasi busina rather than hi-beams especially with jeeps and bus ang kulit kasi ayaw tumabi kaya gmit tlga pero sa ibang car naman namin ganun din ako gumamit yet ok pa din ang horn 1 of our cars is 6 yrs. old already still stock pa ang horn poor quality horn ang bgay ng chevy yata tlga) to cut the story short after talking to management and weighing pros and cons ( kelangan pa kasi mg pa service sakanila in the future so ano choice ko) i payed the 500 pesos at least i know that the horn will last and i wont be troubled for a long time going back and forth to the dealer just to get it replace it.
yo captiva owners, any more feedbacks? i've delayed buying one till march next year because of all the negative things my friends are saying about chevy's after sales(although they're not chevy owners themselves). i've checked out other 7 seater cuv and mpv in the market, but captiva is still my top choice. any feedback will be a great help. thanks
you will not know until you get one.
also, you need to ask yourself which really you prefer, is it the ride or
is it the amount you pay for the maintenance? or maybe, both...
I own the 2.4 Gas CAPTIVA, 19,640kms on its odo... no complain up to now. PMS range from Php 6,700+(*5K&15K) to Php 8,900(*10k) Quezon Ave.
Driven and Tested on a Sunny Day & Rainy Night North-Loop (antipolo-isabela-cagayan-pagudpud-ilocos, pangasinan, la union, bulacan-antipolo)... superb handling for me on twisties. Its triptonic is excellent on uphill & downhill, easy to adjust to Manual Transmission when needed.
this is just to share with you my experience. goodluck!
thanks man, but based on this thread some dealers have great service (q.c. is among them) and some just plain sucks. actually maintenance cost is immaterial for me, if you badly want a particular car, chances are your going to buy it regardless of its cost. but in another thread i find that the alterra's pms is actually higher than captiva's.
i'm planning to buy my captiva in chevy laguna, i was hoping for some inputs on their service.
i also have a captiva and man! panalo. wala akong masabing di maganda sa kanya in terms of performance and looks. downside pa lang so far from my captiva experience was my first pms. 10420 kagad ang damage for a change oil. 5k pms yan.. i hope it goes down for the next 5k pms.
btw, can you guys refer a shop where i can have my captiva serviced next time? im from marikina. mejo na trauma kasi ako sa bill ko sa chevy pasig last PMS ko eh. thanks!
sir jay88, hows your captiva? have chevy resolved all its problems?
thats good to hear sir, i hope chevy keeps it up. i really like the captiva, hopefully i'll get mine march next year.
after my 5kms with captiva. everything seems to be better. it works smoother now. i had mine serviced at chevy pasig. my 5k pms had oils, oil filter, pollen filter changed and other things that needs checking covered. a friend from ford club suggested that i buy PMS parts at thunder auto parts. that's in araneta and quezon ave corner. then have my captiva serviced at chevy quezon ave.![]()
I bought my Captiva on March 2009 and it came with the 3rd row seats (with seat cover), which I've never used. In case anyone is interested, please let me know. Thank you.
