How much is the fuel consumption of the diesel 4X2 version? I heard it was 11km/l but isnt that way too much for a diesel?

the 4x2 and the 4x4 have the same engine, hence, you may expect the same FC for both ... my last 500 km consumed 43 liters, mostly hi-way easy driving, pangasinan-manila round trip

now, what do you mean by "too much for a diesel"?

well, the thing is our old 2003 Revo with a 2.0l gas engine and 4-speed auto tranny gets 10kms/l (when going from Cavite to Muntinlupa) on a regular basis. I was just expecting a diesel engine to be much more frugal...might be the Revo is lighter, has skinnier tires, small front cross-section...:drive1:

anyways, still went to the dealer and got a quote...roughly P36K a month for 4 years on a 20% DP on a 4x2 diesel model. Is that pricey since I got the in-house financing quote?

Also, will probably fit the Captiva with more aggressive off-road tires.

Correct me if im wrong but i think traction controll din yun cguro. dats nice and very usefull sa putik khit hndi 4X4 or sa madulas na ahon.

500km for 43 liters hmm... ok sana kaya lang di ko nabasa kagad na purely hi-way pala ito

anyway, our sta fe na pinabendisyunan namin sa manoag, I spent like 30+ liters for a 550km run

but in city, 500km is just my full tank average of 61 to 62 liters. max tank of Santa FE is 75 liters

Pingapipilian ko kasi ngayon ito and CRV 4X2, madami na FC reviews ng CRV and most are getting an average of 7-8 k/l city, just want to compare them sa FC ng 4X2 Captiva.

Sa mga nagpaservice na ng Capitva nila, kumusta naman?

well, either mahina benta ng captiva or karamihan ng captiva owners do not post here.

for me naman, i'm looking for a good diesel matic suv. so my choices are this captiva, the fortuner, or the tucson/sportage twins. sana may makapag-post ng fc ng diesel matic 4x2 na captiva.

My FC shall i say is at 9 Km per liter. This is to include travesing EDSA on various occassions (vice versa -averaging 1.5 Hours on this avenue due to traffic condition) with Malolos city as point of origin. (Trip A reading of 1620 Kms for 179 liters diesel from various fuel refilling stations)

I can say i'm very much satisfied with this FC, considering my driving habit. I also got a diesel engine-AUV and returns the same FC to me.

If you want to test drive the Captiva, dont do it on a subdivision/village road. Bring it and go from San Fernando Pampanga - to Subic thru Mac Arthur highway and ease your way trough, overtake safely with confidence and enjoy the driving pleasure.

    Blackrose,

Did you go for the Captiva? it's nearly 2 months since your last post. I got mine last 03-29-08, and i'm really satisfied with the performance of VCDi 2.0 L Diesel Engine, the ride quality, the bow-tie badge and my wife's appreciation.

Finally, may nagpost na din ng FC. 9km/l is ok with me. Gusto ko talaga porma ang space ng Captiva.

Sir, nagpa 5k kms service ka na? How much inabot?

    Tomas,

Your daughter is the same age with my second daughter Jaja who really likes Silver (my Captiva's name - being siver colored). So far, having the first PMS after 5000KM (as per the dealer) for me is like having a plug and play gadget. Your question about safety i think is covered by the features standard for Captiva. For the purpose of on-road use, safety aspects are met, although the 4x2 variant does not come with back-up sonar/sensor and for an 18 year-old lady, i would say you can ask the dealer to include it. However, Chevy Captiva has a 3-yr warrantee / 100000Km wichever came first to include road assistance, so if anything comes up, you can call them on site for assistance. I should say this will put your mind on ease knowing there's a support crew dedicated for this issue (i'm speaking about the deal i got from GM San Fernando Pampanga). Your daughter shall love the red colored one, blends well with the black colored fenders (fit for a lady). The diesel variant for me is really okay, even with a heavy foot - i got an average of 9-9.5 Km / liter diesel (i dont know about the gasoline variant).

My odo reading is around 2600 as of yesterday. I'll post it once i got details. My brother-in-law's unit would reach 5000 km earlier than mine, so i'll get the info from him.
