    correct.

sports mode is like driving a manual less the clutch pedal. no need to release the accelerator if you want to switch between +/-.

So I want to make sure I wont dmg our very first BNew car :D
Hi, what color and model of cruze did you prefer sir?
About your questions. Its safe to shift/change your gear when it comes to shifting from 'D'rive to the +/- mode already whenever your moving or at full stop. But not in 'R'everse where you have to do a full stop to engage it.

When using the sport mode +/-, just take care of it like the manual tranny..
You can up-shift or down-shift it with or without your foot on the gas pedal. And the good thing is that, whenever you forget to up/down-shift your gear, it just gonna shift it self up/down to avoid stressing your engine..

Just always check and take care of your A/T transmission by checking your engine oil and your ATF to avoid BIG problems.

    talaga? wierd...

ok, this is base on my santa fe (sold) which has the same type of transmission as of the CRUZE.

if you're using the manual mode or sports mode, the transmission wont shift to next higher gear unless done by the driver. however, the transmission will shift to next lower gear (automatic) if engine speed becomes low and could compensate the actual speed that the car is cruising...

Don't worry so much on how the transmission will react on when to shift it up or down. Because Cruze has this Driving recognition where it will remember your driving pattern.. Incase you want to be on economic driving or the aggressive part that is..

so where's the point of being sports mode when the ecu commands the gear to shift if it sense high rpm? they should leave that in normal P,R,N,D. no more +/-.

ok, i could not dissect this problem without having this cruze on my garage. i will find out that next week...

using the TAPShift/sport mode of the cruze is just like pushing your gear to get more power by not fully stepping on the gas pedal.. For ex. when overtaking and engine brake, it avoids the red line by shifting your gear up or down automatically when engage in sport mode..

Never on my part sir.. You can check some previous posting by other members on this forum. Because I think some cruze owner experienced the same thing as you do..
