Kaya pala yung isang tsikoteer pinara ng MMDA last night. Kasi naka HID sya sa frosted HL.

Cruze owners, kung sakali man bibili kayo ng HIDs, go for the 4300K OEM color para hindi masyado nakaka silaw. At sa pagkaka alala ko merong umbrella/diffuser yung Headlights ng Cruze to decrease the glare.

    Just planning to convert mine...
    Thanks
Just buy a plug and play projector kit at least chief if ever you're planning. Glare CAN cause accidents if you just plug them HID without a projector on your halogen headlights.

DISCLAIMER: huwag na pong humirit ang mapilit. Kahit ano pang sabihin as long as walang projector ang headlights niyo may glare yan may alignment man o wala.

It pays to be responsible but it's worth every penny considering the good reps you get rather than the complete opposite (cars approaching you with a dirty finger at night that is).

ADD: Plug and play projector kits are relatively cheap these days (try messaging North Customs) if you wanna keep your warranty intact (as opposed to retrofitting). Might be a good to know especially rainy season na.

I have to agree with this. Actually may cutoff yung HID ko sa Tucson, thanks to Philips. Pero dahil mataas, ayun may glare parin. I saw a Tucson na naka China made or Taiwan made HID, walang cutoff yung low & hi beam. At ang lakas ng glare pare.

Anyway.. Plano mo na kumuha ng Cruze?

I'm waiting for a new variant in their lineup chief, which I expect to be released by December and an introductory price of around PhP 1.2M (and no, this isn't from Sir eggman of Tsikot).

I've been informed that it will be introduced for "show" to the market this August for a market study, and if feedback's good, it will be a competitor to Ford as mentioned by December.

I've already scouted the parts that I'll be fitting it with, but if it doesn't push through here, then I guess it will be a good way to save albeit more and financing options less. Win-win situation I guess.

It's really itchy to already go with the 1.8, but with this coming variant (which I really hope will be sold here), all the factors to justify a purchase of a new car will be satisfied and I'll be guaranteed that I won't have ANY regrets on my next purchase (aside from choosing it for a BMW E39! lol).

So, yep. December chief, we'll see. ^_^

Can't wait to have them TSX and "ultimate" projectors fitted for a quad-setup! Whew!

Quad Set-up sa Cruze? bakit hindi nalang Lexus LS or SC? basta yung Bi-xenon. hehehe

Yeah kilala ko yung nagsabi. Hindi si eggman nyahahaha.

Diesel Variant ang pinag uusapan natin diba.. Kapag the price is right, it's hard to resist to buy one..

LOL! Hehehe yup quaddie and bi-xenon nga pareho so parehong may HI at LO. Checked the measurements and mukhang rough fit so still have to decide pa kung aling projectors ang sasakto.

Yeah it's the diesel variant. They're aiming to price to be the same as the Focus hatch diesel. Considering the fuel consumption readings from Australian initiative sites et all, yep, would be really hard to resist not going back to Chevrolet.

Just planning to buy some actually. And I still dont know if its been banned by the MMDA, and some says that it is prohibited to use without the projector type OEM..
    Can someone clarify this..

    Thanks..
There are news that it's banned, but the regulations are flawed. Kasi ang statement sa article, basta naka-HID. So stock Camry's, Mazda 3's, and cars with stock projectors will be flagged down based on how they said it. lol

I guess it just all boils down to proper use. Some halogen headlights will still have that alignment mark aka cutoff with HID's on them (without projectors), but the glare's still there.

So just buy a bolt-on projector kit. Add some extra pesos for that peace of mind. Just my .02

Hahaha!

Hehe worth it.

As for the LT interiors, sorry for the let-down, but it's just like any regular cars you see there. Usual beige-like dash and trims unlike sa ibang countries na may red and blue trims siya (although a representative of Chevy Pasig just posted an offer here for fitting those colors instead - TO BUYER's EXPENSE of course). Would be nice if they can offer it as an option na lang sana, but well, business needs money to operate. Hehe

To be fair, the Optra's a great car (as I've been telling everywhere actually). The letdown is yung maintenance lang talaga, wherein a simple PMS costs me 6-8K, which if you'd add just a little bit will be almost similar to what BMW calls "Inspection 1". Not that I'm saying na mag-Bimmer na lang, pero I'm a practical guy and I bought a typical sub-compact on the basis that I expect it to be practical to own as well - which unfortunately the dealerships here failed to deliver. They sell their cars great, but they'll cost you as an owner come maintenance day (and for those with free PMS for X amount of KMS., expect that after your free PMS ends, which I'm assuming these "free PMS" period could've been actually calculated to the sale price offer of your cars instead of just offering these free services as a selling price discount - no offense and not to ruin your Chevy purchase, but hey, that's how things go. KIA offers these cash discounts instead of FREE PMS services per se to make the purchase more attractive spot-on, while Chevy offers the opposite to make the purchase more attractive IN THE LONG RUN).

I've test-driven the Cruze and again, it's a great car just like my Optra was. If it provides me the SAVINGS I expect from it, then these savings (especially in terms of km/li readings) can be a good offset to the maintenance costs that I'll be required to pay for it.

But then again it's too early to tell. The diesel variant hasn't even been finalized yet as to whether it will actually be released here or not. Once it's released though, then it's time to walk the walk and not just talk the talk.

ADD: Obviously I'm really not concerned about the turbo lag at all if ever it arrives. hehe

Same tayo pre. I have nothing against the Optra (as a car ha) Pero sa maintenance cost din sumakit ang ulo ko.

Hehehe.. ganyan nga naman talaga. Ganda sana nung Dark Blue Cruze with blue leather trims sa interior

And I'm still doubting if the maintenance prices posted here are applied across the board (in all dealearships that is) + what the salesman said na "competitive" na raw... which I believe is highly subjective. Hehe

As for the color combo, I'd say AMEN to that chief.

Just as I thought.. Thank you for the inputs..

Fitting it with an HID above 6000K without the projector kit will cause an accident towards an incoming car due to the large big headlamp that will cause large beam of glare.. Right?

*S_G: yup, it has an umbrella/diffuser in it..
With the HID inside it, will it burn the silver/chrome coating of the headlights?

Does anybody here who has their Cruze installed with some HIDs? Can you give us more info's regarding these HIDs on Cruze if its worthy or not?

Not a big thing actually, just some future QnA for us cruze owners...

Hi sorry for the question, just want to know when you say cutoff, does it mean alignment of the headlights?

    thanks.

Regardless if it's 3000K, 4300K, 6000K, 8000K, or even 12000K chief, as long as it's fitted to a non-projector headlamp housing, there will be glare.

For the Cruze's headlamps, I'm not sure but there is a possibility that the diffuser will have to be removed to make way for the longer bulbs of HID's. If not or sakto ang fit, then good, but if not - todo glare yan without the diffuser.

Cut-off is how the lights are emitted by your car, at night, point your lights to a flat wall and you should notice a pattern similar to this:

    ____/---- ____/---

This cut-off ensures that you won't "blind" incoming traffic as the left side of the light throw is low (given na nasa kaliwa mo ang kasalubong mo going the opposite lane) and the right side is albeit higher to make use of the extra light on your passenger side (given na opposite side na 'to ng kasalubong mo, you can make use of the extra light on this side for spotting pedestrians in full darkness etc.)

I have HID fitted in my projector HL, so far same as halogen nanduon parin ang cut off. Malaki ang chance na maging successful ang HID upgrade mo kapag naka projector.

AFAIK some hi end model car ngayon naka HID sa HL.

ilang questions po about the cruze..

    5. anong best way para i-fix na yung antenna...? para di ko na sya tanggalin from time to time pag public parking

salamat po sa inputs nyo... it will be much appreciated...
