Hello everyone,
Just want to have the latest feedback on your Cruze, I've been planning to buy my very first Brand New Car hopefully this August, and Cruze LS A/T is on my list and currently on top of my list. What's holding me back is that there are many feedback regarding a high maintenance cost of owning a Chevy so I want to get the info first hand from the owner and those knowledgeable of Cruze regarding the following:
1. Fuel Consumption (Already read info's regarding this, just want to know the latest if they get better)
2. Performance
3. PMS cost actual or estimate (10K, 20K, 30K, 40K...)
4. Cost of comprehensive insurance with AOG per year (you may include what your using and the premium cost)
5. Is the service of Chev already improved in terms of after sales and if the cost of the parts improved (get reasonably cheaper)?
6. And anybody can share the Top Gear PH March review (summary or detail) for Civic 1.8S vs Cruze 1.8
And any other info that can help me decide will be highly appreciated
BTW: 2nd choice is City 1.3S AT (For fuel economy and cheaper price)
and 3rd is [SIZE=2]Lancer 1.6 GLS CVT
Thank you very much!

Hi.. So far, never have/had any problems with my chevy cruze LS MT. Drove it last day at NLEX with a speed of 150kmph & felt like cruising on 80kmph insde the car, and reach 170kmph where its like 100kmph only. Hardly noticeable when your not monitoring your speedometer..
With regards to your questions.
1. My FC is 14-16 km/l highway and 9km/l city driving. (maybe because its MT & it depends on driving cond)..
2. As for the performance base on my experience. Quite smooth while cruising on any bad road conditions (tarmac) and quite powerful when you need some hp and torque. Its like a silent killer on the loose..![]()
3. For the PMS, you can find some break downs posted here somewhere. (http://tsikot.yehey.com/forums/showt...=65063&page=19)
I got a 1yr free pms.
4. After 1yr free of Insurance with 1yr AOG, I asked one of theie sales agent with regards their comp. insurance with AOG renewal and told me its ranging from 20k-24k (Chevy Pasig).
5. Haven't encounter any chevy service(s) yet as for now. But have read somewhere here that the Chevrolet Service Philippines has improved.
6. Yup, bought TopGear PH cruze review last March. Very interesting review of the Blue Chevy Cruze LT as well. They drove the cruze at Clark Pampanga race track where they enjoyed driving it on slalom. They talked about how fancy the instrument panels interior/exterior (like a Beamer) and the power and how smooth the cruze cruise on the track.
So for the fuel economy, the 1.3 vios is the best choice. But for the performance and style, i would go for the cruze rather than the lancer gls 1.6. But its still up to you if which one do you prefer most..
Hope this help a bit.
Cheers![]()
*SIC >>> nice read
*all cruze owners, any feedback kung maingay ung sasakyan pag idle?
Sir SiC, thank you very much for the feedback, It was a very big help, I guess cruze is winning the raceI just hope there's an agent who can give me a very huge discount, cause the budget committee only approves 800K and wanted an AT (T_T) i hope flowers and chocolates can stretch the budget a bit ;) I'm going to do a test drive this coming weekend and I hope the commander likes it and stretch the budget
btw any tips and basic on driving an AT, never drive an AT before hehehe.
Hope to hear more from owners and gurus!
Thanks!

check this out, i hope this will be available locally as well...
To Bumblebee, este Chadzxp2,
Mine is an AT and I get 7-8 kml city and 14-15 kml highway.
It's very quiet and handling is firm. It's very rigid and suspension is on the firm side (compared to Optra). Because of this, even though it's a relatively heavy car, it doesn't feel and act heavy. I don't know how to describe it, but because it's rigid and firm, it feels sporty, not like a heavy, lumbering car.
It's a big car, though, as compared to the Vios. In heavy traffic and parking, it stresses me. Smaller cars are easier to maneuver through tight spaces and so much easier to park. The rear parking sensors are a BIG help.
Manual vs AT? I came from a manual Optra. And I must say, I would never ever go back to manual again. AT is sooo much more convenient. I don't mind the slightly worse fuel economy. At all.
Hope this helps.
*Sir Electone, thanks for the info, I guess the FC of MT and AT doesn't have much difference I think and 7-8 kml is good enough for me, i travel via C5 without much traffic so I guess I can make it 9 kml or maybe not :P
btw I just get the bumblebee pic also in this thread hehehe which attracts me to have a cruze! hope I can change it soon to a real cruze pic of my own :D
*Sir awallit, any contact number? I already have talked to a chevy shaw SA and will be having a test drive this Saturday so perhaps we can schedule it same day at perhaps you can give me a good deal ;) the budget committee approved 800K and the condition will be the car should be A/T and brandnew and have reasonable performance and FC at this point I guess the FC and performance is already a GO!
so the remaining problem is to make it an A/T for 800K (T_T) the purchase will be as good as cash (500K from my company auto loan assistance program and we will add 300K) so perhaps if you can work it out and have a better offer than chevy shaw then I guess you'll have me ;)
Thanks again!
oo nga mga bro... i agree, ung ingay pala is dun sa fan. masyado syang maingay pag nasa labas ka ng auto at ka-start pa lang. pero pag adjust na ng 3 or 4 ung fan e tahimik na.![]()
i don't know if this is not OT. How did you take good care of your new cruze in terms of cleaning? Is it advisable to have it waxed agad? or punas punas lang?
its ok to wax your cruze. before you wax your cruze, i-shampoo mo muna yung body. pag na wax na, kahit punas na lang with running water.then water dry mo, then punas ng microfiber towel..
sa akin naka-carnauba double wax ang cruze ko para hindi madaling kapitan ng dumi lalo na pag tagulan. and mas madaling linisin.
