Was in Tagaytay over the weekend. Brought the LT. Perfect car EXCEPT for the sluggish 1.8 engine. Had a hard time overtaking. My Montero, which has a 2.4 diesel engine, can beat the LT. I have made 170kph with the Montero. I was having a hard time exceeding 130 kph with the LT. They should bring in the 2.0L variant and allow us to trade in with minimal cost. This is how they can revive their company.

By the way, has anyone experienced a foul smell coming from the aircon when you turn it on especially after it has been left under the sun?

On highway driving you may shift to manual mode during overtaking. This puts you in control rather than using D-mode. Use 3rd or 4th gear depending on the speed.

I've been to Iba Zambales recently and made 180KPH at SCTEX and Cruze can have it more.. 140KPH is the best cruising speed on expressway. When looking on the road its like 80KPH only but you will be surprise you are overtaking all the cars and found out that you are already on high speed. This is how smooth the CRUZE is.

I'm still observing the FC until I reach 5K on my odometer (It's only at 2.2K right now). I got around 5-7KPL on city driving with heavy traffic and 11KPL on the highway.

Resdent Evil: You might want to have your engine checked. 'cause I have the same experience with Sherman.

I went to manila last month, and took SCTEX. I was running 140kph most of the time, and didn't feel the speed at all. I tried 160kph for a little while, but didn't want to push it. The cruze being brand new and all... It sure felt like the cruze had a lot more to offer than 160kph. Much much more.

    - no foul smell experienced here.

    I love the cruze.

Opel's euro influence on the Cruze.
This is the same experience we had the first time we took our Ford Focus to SCTEX.

Do you notice the engine noise after 120kph? That's why I concluded that it was having a hard time getting over 130.

This is a FREE SERVICE CHECK-UP. "CHECK-UP" means diagnosis, evaluation, trouble shoot. The charge for diagnosis usually is a flat rate which ranges from P500 to 1,500.00 per hour.

Chevrolet Pasig is giving it for free as a goodwill service. There is a voucher that goes with it. No worries.

TCCCI, Chevrolet Distributor, guarantees its low ownership cost. Maintenance is every 6-months with parts price lower than average market price. Check-out the parts for peace of mind.

Here are the prices for PMS:
    1. Semi-synthetic oil (P400-600 range per liter, depending on brand to use)
    2. Oil-filter - P851.00
    3. Labor - P440.00 flat rate

    Other schedule:
    Spark plugs - every 2 years/40,000 km
    Brake fluid - every 2 years / 40,000 km
    Coolant fluid - every 3 years / 60,000 km
    Timing belts - every 3 yeras / 60,000 km

    Indeed value for money!

hindi ba mabigat ang body ng cruze para sa 1.8 engine kaya medyo mataas consumption niya? Kasi ang laki talaga ng body niya.

Yep malaki talaga ang body at mabigat ang kaha. Siguro may effect din yun sa FC. Like Optra, mabigat ang kaha..

so baka kaya medyo mataas ang FC. It has to do with power to weight ratio dn.

Yup, mas mababa power to weight ratio ng Cruze compared sa ibang compacts like Civic, though mas mataas ng konti hp rating nya dito. Sa highway, i don't have any idea kung maganda drag coefficient ng Cruze. The lower it is the better the FC in Highway.
