My girlfriend's brother migrated to Australia about 5 years ago and have been enjoying it there.

If Binay wins, I'll consider moving to Aussie. Hirap lang to start all over again. My education and job experience mean nothing there so I'll probably have to start with an entry level job. I'd like to try being a car salesman.

As for me my roots are too deeply entrenched and of course i have a family already that me and my wife are raising. And i agree with jut703 that if Binay wins it will be a disaster.

Check your pay and entitlements and check your cost of living( hopefully you get cost of living allowance). Food, rent, fuel and healthcare is expensive in Deutschland. Christmas and spring is so beautiful save for the loved ones who are not there with you.

the land down under is a great country. i have sister in new south wales. she graduated her fine arts there, and finished her master's degree there too. she's an educator. once upon a time i was considering of migrating but i changed my mind and stick it out here. back then, they need professionals (am not sure if they still do). a very large country but has a population of 20+ million.

Nordic countries, in terms of work benefits, governance, crime rate, culture, and overall ung quality of life, equality and prosperity laging nasa top. Swe, Nor, Fin, Den.. imagine maternity leave ung iba nila up to 2 years. Paternity umaabot ng 1 year. And then recently one of em implemented 6 hr work day or something? Panalo din ang healthcare and education system nila duon.

The rent is really expensive I have no choice but to live in the city since I have no car and rental rates are really high. I should budget around EUR700-800 for a 1 bedroom flat kalt. I would probably spend a total of 1000+ for heating and utilities. Healthcare should be shouldered by the company. I could ship my car at the expense of the company but I choose not to since I also have to pay extra for parking and I don't want the hassle of changing oil and tires etc during winter. I imagine it would be SO expensive.

I find the food in Germany relatively cheap. Mushrooms at 50 cents, these same mushrooms cost P250 at Landmark. Cheese is so cheap too! I'd say Switzerland is expensive. I swore to myself I am never going back unless I am not paying for anything hehehe.

Australia's geography/land itself is pretty hostile imho. And there are lots of poisonous/dangerous creatures there(crocodiles, great white sharks, harpoon snail, box jellyfish; a good number of the most poisonous snakes in the world are in Australia...boxing kangaroos, you get the idea)...then again i don't think you'll have this problem pag sa urban cities ka.

Naalala ko palagi ang Aerobics Oz Style. Favorite show ko sa Star TV dati ^_^

In U.S. Immigration laws, that is equivalent to L1 visa- transferred employee. Paid in local rates(host country) plus some bennies

BTW My brother told me he never break ups with his GF to spare her the embarrassment and heartbreak from being dumped. Kumbaga, leave her some pride and let her break up with you. When he wants out, he just stops being the person she loved (eg less effort/time/gifts) so his GF would break up with him.

My brother was really a player and he told me that one of his fears was his karma mapunta sakin

Only child? Then on another thread (break up thread), you said you had a brother.

    Just askin'? 😮

If I stay, 2018 would be my earliest chance for promotion. And of course I have to work with people I hate (90% of them) No management support and no increase til 2018 most likely.
Opportunity knocks, don't let it pass by.

I had almost the same experience. I had to leave my parents (who are living with me for 32 years), a German Shepherd which I raised from puphood and personally trained, my siblings/nephews and niece). I was saving a net of 40k monthly, had to live alone in a flat surrounded by people from all cultures, no close friends, no confidante, basically all alone. Just work, home, mall.

Looking back, I think it's one of the best decisions I've made for my career and finances, though there are things I still regret when I left.

So in your case, 2-3 years is nothing, you won't notice it when you start making yourself busy with work and surround yourself with friends abroad. Join clubs, find a new hobby when you're bored.

Sa umpisa mahirap talaga, there will be separation anxiety and mixed emotions.

Oh, and another thing, in your case you'll be leaving a-hole officemates, with mine, I had to endure years of working with foreign a-holes and meatheads within my team in my two previous employers. All's good, I learned to adapt and be a dickhead myself. Sabi nga kasi if you can't beat them, join them.

    assholes in the workplace?
maski saan meron nyan..... maski magpunta ka sa huge organization or startup meron nyan.... local or foreign.
why? its because its a multi-cultural stuff.... multi-behavioral stuff that you organize to achieve a certain goal.... may mga kanya kanyang backgrounds ang isang tao na pinagsama mo into one unit.... iba ibang personalities.

thats the thing that you need to accept when dealing with people.... maski kapamilya mo ganyan..... may mga assholes din na kamaganak. maski mga kasambahay, minsan may mga assholes din.

it should not be your primary reason for everything.... like in your case, you want to have a work reassignment because of assholes in your workplace.. pagdating mo dun, may mga assholes din.... so what would you do? ask that you be returned here in the Philippines? wrong notion, as far as i am concerned.

maski ikaw ang may ari ng negosyo, you still have to deal with asshole employees, asshole suppliers and asshole clients. walang ligtas dyan sa mga yan.

some of my friends work in a church..... and yes, may mga assholes din dun.....

so to avoid assholes, just hole yourself up inside your room.

The obligatory pension scheme (9.35% of gross pay) can be claimed back when your stay is less than 5 years and no intention to return back to Germany to work again. You can process this before you leave Germany and get it back after 2 years.

depende siguro. if you can earn as much here eh bakit ka pa aalis. assholes will be there kahit saan ka magpunta. kahit ikaw na ang may-ari ng kumpanya may mga assholes pa rin na empleyado....

with your case siguro, mas ok i-grab yun oppurtunity for experience. getting out of your comfort zone will teach you a lot and help you grow as an individual. if you could earn that much here and become independent from your family, hindi mo na kelangan mag-isip kung mag-aabroad ka pa.
