I have a 4yr old no name brand dashcam. Yung LCD screen lang ang medyo bumibigay na, whitish na sya, pero still recording properly. And I think dead na rin ang internal battery. Madalas na mag-reset ang time and date.

so rare i parked the car under the sun also but i remove the camera from it's mount if there's a call. i have this small thermo bag where i put the camera then i can safely leave the camera inside my console box.
safe na sya at least from the harsh oven like temps while the car is baking under the sun. also never i removed the power adapter from the lighter socket since day 1, no problem at all.

4 years for a no name dashcam? That's one sturdy cam you got there bro. Nice!

Dash cams with parking mode doesn't get power from the car's battery. Kung properly wired naman, yung 12volt supply nya is turned off pag tanggal ng susi.

Parking mode of dashcam will get power from internal battery until maubos.

Ah I see. How long will the internal charge last kaya? So safe din pala if naka on ang parking mode?

BTW naka set saken after turning off the engine 10 seconds pa siya nagrerecord.

Ceiling inipit lang sa bungad then pagapang towards passenger side to A pillars, inipit sa weather strip going down to glove compartment to the 12V power source.

not visible at all, kaso yun nga hindi na transferable.
Yes Sir, same price with dp220,
but the 520 has no speed alarm, no lane departure alarm and no parking mode. Important features ba mga to?

What's the edge of 520? Dual cam yan diba? Other cam facing inside the cabin?

    Capture quality? Who's better?

Speed alarm, lane departure, front collision? You don't need a device for that.

Actually I turned that off already.

Oh no parking mode si 520? Among the features ni 220 yun medyo helpful lalo na pag nasa alanganin lugar ka nakapark.

Kaso every motion infront detected nirerecord niya, if busy yung lugar malamang ubos agad battery niya hehe

The advantage of the 520 is it's a dual cam setup. So aside from recording yung harap/hood view, you can record the inside of the cabin. The second cam can swivel. I have the 520. I point the second camera to the driver side so I can record as well pag may traffic enforcer na loko loko.

Nakaka conscious lang minsan knowing that everything is recorded including the inside of the car. But it's a second security layer I'm willing to have.

***ingat lang sa mga gustong gumaya sa "fake taxi" baka malimutan mo it's recording ;) ***

    according to the dp220 manual, parking mode will be triggered by motion;

you may check it here * 11:20

O apologies on that, I stand corrected. I thought motion infront of the cam will trigger it. I tried waving my hand in front of it while the engine is off, i thought it recorded. Baka naconfuse lang ako.

    Thanks.

Is it possible to mount our cam on the dash with the suction cup/adhesive provided?

    I stand corrected. ;)

So basically parking mode is a motion sensor camera. Read reviews and builtin battery will last for about 30mins

*makyong, suction cups work in smooth surfaces where it can trap air. Dashboards are usually textured surfaces.

In my old garmin gps, it came with a flat metal plate with 3m tape on the other side. That's what I stick on my dashboard and then use the suction cup over that plate.
