thanks for the info guys!
There is at least two auto-LPG stations that would be along the way.
- NAIADSS at Pioneer St (near EDSA northbound), near Robinson's Pioneer
- E.Rod/C5 southbound before crossing Pasig river, beside the flyover. (I can't remember the station's name).
- Buendia Ave has two auto-LPG stations near SSH (towards Pasay side)
- EDSA, near Taft ave has a NAIADSS auto-LPG station.
these are just what I can remember that would be within or near the normal route.
it's manila autogas sir
here's a link to their location and their other branches within the metro

Lpg cars are very safe. I have been installing and driving one myself. We have installed almost more than a hundred vehicles SGI kits and traditional kits since we started middle of last year. Just know what kind of system they are going to install in your vehicle and follow their maintenance procedures.
Can you show me how you computed this? Hi Ghosthunter,
Can you show me how you computed this? My car runs at around 1000k per month and is an SGI system. I actually thought it would take me 5 years to recover costs. Can you show me your computation? I think mali-mali yung sa akin eh. Thanks
Found this FAQ about lpg conversion. Might help some of you guys. It also includes a savings calculator.

This is slightly off topic but connected.
I was watching Mythbusters last night. They shot a propane tank (locally called lpg) with a 9mm pistol and it did not penetrate the tank. They then tried a .30-06 rifle. Went clean through the tank but it did not ignite. Big cloud of propane/lpg but no fire. They repeated the .30-06 with tracer rounds (shot 3 times) and still no fire even with the propane cloud.
They did manage to blow it up using explosives. The only way they were able to blow it up by shooting was by using a Minigun firing inceindary rounds. The minigun is a vehicle mounted weapon used to destroy armored vehicles. It will probably destroy anything short of a main battle tank. Same gun used by Arnie in T2 to destroy the police cars.
My point is if shooting it does not cause an explosion, I doubt that a car crash will blow up a car's lpg tank. In my mind this proves its safe.
Assuming your car does 8km/L.
1000km/month = 125L/month
For the sake of simplified computation, we will assume the fuel mileage for gasoline and LPG is the same in your car.
125L/month
gasoline*42/L = P5,250
LPG*27/L = P3,375
cost savings per month = P1,875
cost savings per year = P22,500
SGI kit cost = P55,000
ROI period = 55k/22.5K = 2.45years
At this point, we can add 10% to the ROI period if the LPG kit was NOT a SGI kit. SGI tends to give roughly the same fuel mileage as gasoline (or even slightly better mileage in some installations). So the final computed ROI would be 2.45 years.

That is so cool! Now there's this thing with my SGI system. Ive been getting around 9 -10 km/L with it. But it's actually cheating the mileage a little bit because it periodically shifts back to gasoline every now and then to help keep the gasoline system clean. So the 9-10km/L is actually a little less pa.
BTW, I just brought my car to Batangas for a beach overnight. I drove it through the STAR expressway reaching speeds of 150km/h! That's so far the fastest my car has gone, and I dont want to push it further for safety's sake. The LPG system had no difficulty reaching high speedsIt also gave sufficient power for each overtake I needed to do.
The chain is only as strong as its weakest link...
I think the main fear with lpg systems is not the tank but the tubings and pipings which are a lot thinner. Also, some installers may be using cheaper materials than those used by mythbusters. In the US, even their computer casings are thicker and heavier than what we have here.
Nevertheless, I still think LPG systems are safe.
I did however install an lpg alarm in my car, just to make skeptics feel safe![]()
Di ba typically na mas mababa ang FC ng LPG kaysa sa gasoline?
Assuming gagamit ako ng LPG, ito ang rough computation ko using ghosthunter's computation
12km per liter (gas) (typically it is from 12 to 13 Km per liter)
1,800 Km per month
=> 150 liters per month
PHP 44.00 per liter
= PHP 6,600 per month
10km per liter (LPG) - estimated value
1,800 Km per month
=> 180 liters per month
PHP 28.00 per liter
= PHP 5,040 per month
Savings:
PHP 1,560.00 per month
PHP 18,720.00 per year
SGI kit cost = P55,000
ROI period = 55k/18,720K = 2.94years
So after the ROI, I am saving 1,560 per month. :D
But if FC is still the same, ROI goes up to 1.91 years.
Tataas pa ito if lalaki ang difference ng per liter ng gas at LPG.
if my distance is 2200 km per month ROI goes down to 2.4 years.
In 7 months my Avanza 1.3L odometer is 16,000+Km. So about 2,285 Km per month
Dahil sa bumaba ang FC, hahaba ang ROI.
Currently ang unleaded gas sa shaw ay 43.70 pesos per liter

haba ng thread, 2 araw ako inabot.
P55,000 = 2yrs+ ROI
900kms per month ako
SGI is not for me IMO![]()
