update ko lang po dun sa maingay ko na car. di po pala galing sa lpg yung ingay kundi sa brake pads na naupod. nagkataon na bigla siyang nasira after the installation ng lpg kit ko sa car ko. tama yung sinabi ng installer ng lpg kits ko na minsan yung lpg kits ang nasisisi pag meron nakikitang deperensya sa kotse. however, what i really notice is that every morning hirap magstart ng kotse. 3 times na akong nagpatulak this week para lang sya umandar. dati naman 1 click lang sya. any work around on this? ayoko pa bumili ng bagong battery since im not sure if this would really help.

How is it? Planning to do the same. Have you posted your pics for the tank yet? Since we have same vehicles, I might as well copy your setup if you don't mind. Thanks!
    Hello ser,

I have posted pics of my car (with lpg tank); click on below.

I recommend to start on gasoline mode. If it still has difficulty starting in gasoline mode, its probably not your lpg system at fault.

On my SGI system, it starts the engine on gasoline mode by default, then changes to lpg kapag mainit na makina. The lpg installer explained to me that the lpg doesnt get burned that well when the engine is cold.

I read in an Indian car thread that this method will also help prevent your gasoline system from running dry, so your gasoline line remains reliable.

Correction: The correct term should be: "Less Environmentally harmful", kasi even if it produces less emissions than gasoline, meron pa rin, and these emissions are not good for the environment, kaya it really istnt environmentally friendly, just less harmful than gasoline.

Liquigas supplies the following autolpg companies:

    1) Autogas
    2) Excelgas
    3) Seaoil
    4) Eastern Petroleum

And probably some other newer ones pa... The interesting thing sa kanila is that they have a card that earns you points when you refill sa mga stations which they supply. I dont exactly get the mechanism yet, but when you reach a certain number of points, you get freebies (fuel yata)

Actually this same thing happened to me. I was only able to pacify them by getting the top-of-the-line SGI system.

I guess you have the mixer type kit.

Switching over to gasoline mode for starting your engine when it's cold. After its running a few seconds, you can switch over to LPG mode (a slight rev up of the RPM will prevent the engine from stalling during switch over).

Kung mixer type with manual switch lang, di ba mas ok kung switch to gas ka before shutting down? Instead of switching to gas only when starting up na?

mukhang mas ok nga ito no....
so on the coming morning you will be starting up on Gas....
    (switch to LPG when warmed-up....
    1 switch in the evening....-->GAS
1 switch in the morning...--> LPG)

The european certification is something asian kits probably dont have. Of course, certification only guarantees that the product adheres at least to the MINIMUM requirement of the certificating body. The lesser quality products may qualify for the minimum requirement and still be certified, superior products may EXCEED the minimum requirement, be superior in many ways, but will only be given the same certification.

Asian kits are not certified. This does not mean that they have lesser quality altogether, they may be even superior (or maybe really inferior) but are just not certified yet. The lack of cretification may make the kits more affordable, as they dont have to spend for certificating their kits.

Sir please allow me to correct this statement:

Im not sure with other asian kits. But our EROOM System is KGS (Korean Gas Safety) and DEKRA (German Safety Stnd) "Full System Certified".

Meaning our kit is not only part by part compliant but it is certified as a whole complete system. All parts are designed to go/fit well with one another.

    Thank you.

in my experience, it's only useful to switch to gasoline during start-up.

really want to buy a cheap f150 and convert it to lpg. only problem here is in our province (tarlac) there are no such thing as a lpg refiller station. the only lpgs i see are those for the cooking version.

hope the government could require the major fuel company to put up lpg refilling stations for vehicles per province or per town .

    what do you think sirs?

mga bossing medyo mahirap mag back read eh..
    One quick question lang po..
1:1 ba ang FC ng LPG with respect to gas or diesel?
If my ride has an FC of 8km/liter of gas, ganon din ba pag LPG na ang gamit ko?

    TIA!

Roughly the fuel mileage of LPG is 1:1 with gasoline.

So if your ride does 8km/L, it should be around that figure if you would use the SGI LPG kits.

I brought my Mazda Familia GLXi to NAIADS Pioneer a while ago to have them check if may space sa hood para sa Vaporizer. Too bad masikip daw.

Anyone know where to get a kit with smaller vaporizer?

    sir GH,

Puede bang ilagay yung mixer type kit sa isang Toyota EFI 16valve 2.0 engine?

What are the advantages and disadvantages?

Medyo namamahalan pa kasi ako sa open loop, close loop and SGI kit. Please correct me if i am wrong.

I hope you can reply on my questions.

    TIA......

You can have it checked with GREENFUEL, GREENGAS or even EROOM. So far, my experience with GREENFUEL is that almost any car can be fitted with LPG kits, even those cars previously judged by NAIADSS as having an engine bay too tight to install an LPG kit.

NOTE: although I don't want to bad mouth NAIADSS, their prices haven't changed since I had my kit installed nearly 2 years ago. And there are other companies who can install LPG kits for a lower price yet maintain good quality in their workmanship.

You can check this thread's past pages to look for the contact info for them.

    ???

If you find the open-loop mixer type kit expensive, there might not be hope for you.

Assuming you are getting mixed up with the terminologies:

-open loop mixer LPG kit - basic carb type LPG system. No feedback system to adjust the A/F ratio on the fly. Fuel consumption would be slightly poorer than with gasoline. Some degree of engine power loss especially at the higher RPM. Prices would be around P23K to P25K

-close loop mixer LPG kit - basic carb type LPG system upgraded with a feedback loop via oxygen sensor (or a tap into stock ECU signal). Fuel consumption would be slightly poorer than SGI but better than open-loop mixer kits. Some degree of engine power loss especially at the higher RPM. Price is around P25K for the basic kit (EROOM/DENSO)

-SGI LPG kit - basically a basic EFI system refitted to feed LPG into your engine. This would have a feedback loop either via oxygen sensor or directly tapping into the stock ECU signals to adjust fuel flow. Properly tuned, this kit would give similar fuel mileage figures as with gasoline. Very minimal engine power loss. Price is around P39K (GREENFUEL), P40K (GREENGAS) and upwards.

    -------------------------------

The main problem with mixer type kits is the possibility of a back-fire in the intake manifold. Although the chance is remote, if it does happen, it might damage a plastic intake manifold. That is why installers prefer to install SGI kits in newer cars with plastic intake manifolds.

BUT it is possible to install a mixer type kit on cars with plastic manifolds. It is just NOT recommended. I doubt if any properly certified installer would do it too.

    -------------------------------

back to your question if you can install a mixer type LPG kit on a toyota EFI 2.0L engine... answer is yes. There will be some drop on power especially at the top end whether you choose and open or closed loop mixer LPG kit.
