I remember when my wife first saw the jazz in the papers she got smitten by it right away. I kept telling her about its features and also some info about other cars but she didn't even want to listen to me. She wants the car period.
When we went to the showroom, there I was blabbing about the button shifters with seven gears, humongous space provisions, and at that time unbelievable fuel consumption, and what I got is the usual reaction of a little girl to a stuffed teddy bear..."its sooooo cute!!!" she said.
The Jazz was launched July 2004 I think and we bought ours October of the same year. No freebies whatsoever not even some cheapo tint and keyless entry and alarm can you imagine that! It took us 3 months to save up for the blasted tints and a year for the keyless entry and alarm.
Nowadays she treats it like its new and it is still her favorite even if we have a mazda 3 and a sportivo already. Its fun to see her drive out of the garage because she talks to it like its alive or something.![]()
I think this is what they mean when they say "there is more to buying a car".![]()
try to go to other Honda dealers. baka mas maganda freebies. usually kasi pag alam ng SA sa kanila ka lang tanong e di ibibigay lahat freebies. happened to me.
But for the 1.3L (which she seems to be eyeing at) does not have the drivers side only the passenger side has it. The 1.5L does have both the driver and passenger... Kinda wierd given the price of the Jazz dapat meron na yan... Oh well mukang DIY na lang for Madam...
Seems to be, she is limited by her budget thus in her case I am still a firm believer she gets the Yaris instead. But if she can find ways to get a 1.5L Jazz then that's good...
Hi all, as of TODAY, I have now shifted to only considering the City 1.5L and the Jazz 1.5L. I will just finance it and keep the rest of the money I've saved up for the rainy days. Sorry if you guys got confused already. I'm the epitome of why typhoons were named after women :D I've informed my Honda SA that I will just finance if I get the 1.5L variant. Price: City 1.5L - 811k Jazz 1.5L - 840k Their bank (RCBC) called me already to do a verification. So within the week we'll know if I will be approved or not. I hope I will, considering I will be making at least 60% down. If I don't get approved. Back to Jazz or City 1.L AT :D
parang konti na lang civic na... hehe
between the city and the jazz and considering na girl yung bibili... jazz na lang.
dati we were left with the choice between the 1.3 jazz and city. mas ok for me yung city kasi sedan type pa rin. pero for my sister, mas gusto niya yung jazz.
at that price range and considering na finance yung oto, ill take the civic na. 811k for the city? jazz at 840k? a civic is at 858k? konti na lang dagdag. hehe.
ok lang naman yung 1.3 variant. thats what we have right now (city). if your not into speed, ok na rin yung 1.3. warning lang, we have the city s 1.3. it feels na cheap yung material na ginamit ng honda. same with the jazz, parang masyadong plastic yung feel ng interior. well yun lang naman napansin ko. scrutinize the car first before making a final decision.

No match mag jazz ka na.
City vs jazz, Jazz syempre.
Kahit jazz vs civic eh jazz pa rin.
Oo nga pala wag ka muna bumili agad. Antay mo muna kung available na yellow color na jazz.
Dont just rely on their in house financing like RCBC. Kuha ka rin ng quote sa mga mababa magbigay ng rates like BPI Family Bank. Or ask Metrobank kung extended yung super low rates nila last year.
1.5L please and get the new Tafetta White color!!!
I have to warn you that the L13A engine on the GM1 City and GE6 Jazz does not perform at its best mated to the automatic gearbox. I test-drove a GE6 Jazz A/T and I found pickup pretty sluggish. The programming of the automatics is very heavily geared toward economy, to the detriment of acceleration.
Later on I test-drove a GM1 City with the manual gearbox - and it was very very peppy indeed. The transmission choice can make or break the driving experience with that particular engine, the L13A.
HTHs
Since you'll be financing the car anyway, the extra 30k for the Jazz over the City would be easier to swallow, so I suggest go for the Jazz. It fits your personality more.
Perhaps it'd be useless persuading you to add 18k more for a Civic, since I don't think girls like you would appreciate the added value.
Nonetheless the Jazz is a great car, and since the roadblock that it's too expensive is one you can overcome anyway, I'd say get it. In blue preferably. Or white.![]()
