*tidus & aejhay: yeah, you can fully release the clutch I am doing that but it depends on the type of your car.Originally Posted by tidus1203
Wow all these years as long as I am in first gear I never let go of the clutch completely and just release it when I shift to 2nd...
I assume same thing with Reverse, or do I need to still partially apply the clutch on Reverse?

Totoo naman na ang kotseng naka-manual ay nakakareduce the risk of texting while driving.
Agree ba kayo na we need to "save the manuals?"![]()
Hi mga sir, I'm planning to get a car loan this November, 1st car & 1st time driver. Balak kong mag-enroll sa driving school sa end of OCT 2010 or early NOV 2010 na para malapit sa pagbili.
Balak ko kasi A/T car, pero sabi ng mga kasama ko sa work ay dapat daw M/T ang aralin ko. Given nga daw na 1st time driver ako, dapat nga daw M/T muna ako at tsaka na lang ako mag A/T. Any advise on this?
Also, A/T dahil gagawin ko itong pamasok sa work everyday nang balikan from Marikina to Makati at dahil traffic lagi sa either C5 or EDSA. Sabi naman nila mas tipid daw sa gas pag M/T kaysa A/T. Nasa 17km ang taxi meter pag EDSA ang daan at nasa 20km pag C5 naman pag umuuwi ako sa gabi.
Thanks in advance for your inputs!
get an AT
old thinking na yung kailangan matuto muna mag MT before mag AT

A friend of mine took driving lessons with a car with M/T; then she bought a car with A/T. No problems encountered.
I suggest you learn to drive a M/T even if your are going to buy an A/T car.
Just in case you really really have to drive a M/T, you'll have no problem.
M/T to A/T is much much easier than A/T to M/T.
Thanks po sa mga inputs niyo, I'll learn M/T but will get an A/T. I've been wanting to get a Lancer EX 2.0 GLS pero nung dumating yung Cruze 1.8 LS at nakita ko sa Trinoma at Gateway, medyo napapaisip ako.
Tingnan ko na lang yung yung ibang threads kung alin ang mas matipid sa gas. Thanks again and good day!
ako naman nag driving lesson using M/T pero A/T ang binili kong kotse ang hassle kasi pag m/t minamaneho bilis ko mangalay![]()
A/T cars nowadays is really very convinient to use and with sportronic tranny you can do manual w/out clutch pedal to push![]()
M/T parin for drifting.pero pag trabaho A/T lalo na sa pinas nakakapagod laging traffic![]()
A/T na darating araw phase out na M/T syempre pa hi-tech n pa hi -tech mga cars parang cellphone may car nga na auto park na. Me my next cars will all be A/T
BTW yung friend ko nag start ng A/T then bumili car na M/T sandali lang nya napag aralan 1 day lang marunong na mag M/T. Ngayon A/T na uli sya
Manual will always be more pure for a sports car, but times sure are changing. With most of the high tech double-clutch technology in new sports cars from Merc, Beemer, Porsche, Ferrari, etc., the "automatic" trannys actually get faster acceleration/lap times than the respective manual transmission variants available. I put quotes on "automatic" because in the case of some like BMW's SMG and M DCT transmission it's not really considered an automatic per se (wiki it, I was confused too initially).
