Personally, budget lang nakikitang kong reason why anyone would choose Manual.
(or kung bahain yung place nyo)

    Way back in college...

    I had a 1.6 Lancer MT, GF had 1.5 Lancer AT (1998 & 1999 models)

Just for fun, we went to a nice road sa north to drag race...

AT car was faster and noticeable yung pag iwan nya sa akin everytime I shift gears.

Not for me. I chose a manual because I am used to it and I find it more fun to drive (shifting gears)

It wouldn't be fun if the car you're driving is not quick or worse, slow to respond.

I would consider an MT car for a weekend toy car of sorts - like a Civic SiR or Civic FD 2.0L or Focus TDCi 2.0L MT or better yet, a WRX or Evolution.

    yes... don't hahaha

I read somewhere that on a normal stock car, great drivers will loose a quarter sec to step on the clutch and shift gear.

If you're racing a quarter mile and use 4 gears, you loose .75 sec just by using a manual. (granting you launch the car properly)

Should you really shift to neutral when stuck in traffic? | Top Gear Philippines

With automatic transmissions, the engine is energizing or driving the transmission to move in the direction of the gear you've selected--forward or reverse. When you keep it in gear, you are telling your vehicle to move; when you're on the brakes, you're preventing motion. You're unnecessarily and slowly raising your automatic transmission fluid, wearing out your transmission clutches, and consuming more fuel because you're on the brakes to keep the car from inching forward. You're also unnecessarily wearing down and heating up your brake pads. By simply shifting to N or neutral there would be no need to apply the brakes with the amount of force required to resist forward motion.

hindi reliable yan top gear na yan

pag old school slushbox a/t, yes you should put to neutral

pag meron slushbox in front of the CVT, yes shift to neutral

pag DCT, no need. the clutches disengage when you step on the brake

pag meron clutch in front of the CVT, probably no need to neutral for the same reason as DCT

experts are welcome to correct me
