I have not had the pleasure of driving a modern CRDi MT. Puro AT na kasi ang binibili. Battle of the Transmissions: M/T vs. A/T

I have driven 2 MT cars to Baguio. Both are considered "makupad" cars. There's the Revo diesel and also an Isuzu IPV. Makupad sa highway pero hinding hindi ako ipinahiya sa akyatan. Never even had to turn off A/C. So really, I'd say a vehicle with 80hp or so can already confidently go up to Baguio via Kennon Road, still with aircon on, at a brisk pace. From what I hear, the gearing of the 2KD MT also isn't very good for high speeds with much higher rpm at 100 than the 4AT despite the additional gear. Though I suppose acceleration and fuel efficiency will still go to the manual.

Medyo nasanay na kami sa fuel consumption. Both the Granvia (3.0 4AT) and Carnival (2.9 5AT) get 4+km/L in city driving. Battle of the Transmissions: M/T vs. A/T I remember the Revo does 7+km/L even in the worst traffic conditions. 8-9 even, if traffic lets up, and that is pure city driving.

In terms of ease of maintenance, I say the AT has already surpassed the MT. In terms of performance, for the most part almost there na with the AT getting more gears and better manumatic function. In terms of fuel consumption... Kelan kaya? Battle of the Transmissions: M/T vs. A/T

Sir baka hindi naman po gamay sa baguio? If ever naman po, merong naman mga video sa youtube na pang uphill which is heel toe or using the handbrake. Very helpful po yan.

Mataas nga Rpm M/T 2.1k Rpm * 100kph lalo na ang innova 2.5k rpm * 100kph But for Me battle and Tested na ang Kd Series Engine ng Toyota kaya ok lang kahit malakas sa Diesel. Battle of the Transmissions: M/T vs. A/TBattle of the Transmissions: M/T vs. A/T

If Baguio hirap na, what for kung sagada pa na makitid pa ang daan uphill.

Pero yung mga drivers ng Hiace na rental vans kala mo mga Takumi Fujiwara sa Initial D! 2KD + MT din mga yun ah, most likely with twice as many passengers as a Fortuner or Innova can seat plus baggage. They go to Sagada in droves!

Nakasakay ako sa ganyang vans going to sagada. Magaling ang driver. Hindi takot mag rev. Kaya always spooled ang turbo.

    MT, AT, CVT, DCT..

As long as na properly driven, hindi abusive sa transmission at properly maintained..

Familiarity sa road is a big difference pag dating sa elevated areas. You have the confidence to go all out. Wag lang bibigay preno kundi kaluluwa labas nila. Battle of the Transmissions: M/T vs. A/T
