May I ask. Merong mga nagsasabi na after 5 years daw for A/T magiging sirain daw ito at magsisimulang magbigay ng sakit ng ulo compare sa M/T. how true?

21 year old Toyota 4AT with 176tkms, no issues.
11 year old Hyundai 5AT with 84tkms, no issues.
8 year old Kia 5AT with 71tkms, no issues.
With these three, I have done nothing other than change ATF. Though I have changed transmission supports for the first two, if you will be counting that. But for that transmission itself, no problem at all.
Drove a Revo diesel with a manual from 2011-2017. IIRC, had one clutch replacement in 2011 and another in 2017. Those weren't cheap.

electric car. 1-speed tranny. no clutch. 1-pedal driving i.e. press to accelerate, let go to engage variable regenerative braking, you almost don't have to touch the brake pedal
i can't wait to buy an electric car![]()
I had to have an M/T clutch relined at 80Tkms. The same model car with an A/T was still running great at 200T+kms. Both had tranny fluid changed regularly. Both also had similar route and usage.
It depends. If you were born and raised in a family na MT ang mga sasakyan, high chance you will also choose MT as a better transmission.
I grew up with a family who loves AT, and all of our cars are AT. And usually AT lang ang TOTL variants. We always buy top of the line, hence all AT.
I still know how to drive a manual. But I really dont like it. I drive faster in an AT.
There are good AT drivers and bad MT drivers and vice versa
Nasa driver talaga and it really depends. May sinasabi din sila na mas controlled daw ang byahe pag manual. Mas in control ka raw. Being an AT driver for 12 years, di ako maka relate. Im always in full control of my car naman and I dont find it hard to control my speed using an AT kahit hataw mode.
Here are some of my highspeed experiences.
Civic 2009 AT, Santa Fe 2013 2.2R VGT CRDI 2013, Sorento 2009 2.5 VGT CRDI

I think what some MT guys mean by saying controlled is that when shifting gears the driver decides kung kelan, anong gear and at what rpm siya mag shift. Sa AT the car will do that for you.
I love driving MT sa long drive, di ka aantukin. But then pag dating sa downtown at may traffic na, dyan mo na hahanapin ang convenience ng AT.
Baliktad naman sa akin. Yung sa 4AT I can just hold the brake if less than 60s, though madalas din na pag more than 30s neutral na, same as with the CVT. My thinking is that yung 4AT is fluid based while yung sa CVT eh pulley and belt driven so comparatively mas may friction siya.
My 4AT is 15 years already running at 140,000kms. Wala namang problema sa transmission kahit once lang yata ako nakapagpalit ng transmission fluid. So basically yung fluid pa lang naging gastos ko sa transmission, whereas kung sa MT in that period maaring nakailang palit ka na ng clutch disk/plate depende how much of a clutch driver you are.
